AIBU to let my nearly 7yo and nearly 4yo sit out the front to watch hot air balloons while I put the baby to bed?

Just that really. I don't usually let them play out the front, because people round here (Bristol 'burbs) mostly don't... I can hear them, windows and doors are open, it'll be max ten minutes! They'll be fine, right? How often do you get to watch 50 odd balloons fly past, inc a Smurf one, ffs? (Actually annually, etc)

As long as they know they can't leave the garden (or you won't let them do that kind of thing again) surely they'll be fine and will enjoy it.

kelda · 07/08/2014 19:06

Of course! Have you seen the Smurf one?

ElephantMug · 07/08/2014 19:08

Thanks dudes. The smurf just flew past, right overhead! They are outside having a lovely time Grin

They will be fine. You would be mean to bring them in.

giraffescantboogie · 07/08/2014 19:09

Yup I think fine too

We go every year but can't this year Sad It's such a lovely thing to go to, the DC love seeing all the balloons taking off.

Enjoy!

Personally id let my dd, almost 7 (with the front door open, and bedroom door open but ds2 who is 4 absolutely no way! I couldn't trust him to stay on the step or even go no further than the gate so they'd have to watch from the window.

You know your dc best and the layout of your house as to how close/how much you can hear them.

ElephantMug · 07/08/2014 19:36

Only a couple of balloons left in the sky now. The DC were fine! My 7yo is very sensible, I could hear her telling 4yo to stay on the path, etc. I'm watching with a Wine!

My 4&6 regularly play out the front. I shut the gate, they know they are not allowed out of it.

Glad they had a fab time
