To think the back of our house is not a playground?

We live above an imbiss and every summer as the kids are let out of school, several children belonging to the employers of the imbiss spend the whole day in the backyard. This is not a fancy backyard with areas to play mind you, but filled with garbage cans and fridges.
Their children carry on all day shouting, whining or crying. This all starts at 7am as the place prepares to open for the day well in to the night (11pm and 12 on the weekends). There is absolutely no break from this for several weeks and each year I suffer from terrible migraines as a result of all the noise!

Several people (ourselves included) have asked them to pipe down with no luck.
Would I be totally unreasonable to complain to our landlords?

startwig1982 · 07/08/2014 18:48

londonrach · 07/08/2014 18:49

Imbiss maybe caravan park.. (Guessing)

Primrose123 · 07/08/2014 18:49

An imbiss is a little snack café thing in Germany.

coffeeinbed · 07/08/2014 18:49

You're not in the Uk, are you?
It might be tricky to advise you, because there might be a different legal situation there.

Imbiss is a place that sells snacks. I think.

Google sez: Imbiss is a general German term for small food stand or street food shop, usually tiny and locally run (often a family operation).

Every day's a school day!

Staywithme · 07/08/2014 18:51

Is that a small food/sweet stand?

ClairDeLoon · 07/08/2014 18:52

Are you in Germany? They're street food vendors aren't they?

YANBU though, it's also not safe for them to be there messing about by bins and such in the first place let alone how irritating it must be.

JumpRope · 07/08/2014 18:52

I guess they have to play somewhere. Are you worried about their safety with the garbage there etc? Or is it just because you don't like to hear them when you are in your flat?

mawinter · 07/08/2014 19:41

Ah sorry, I thought Imbiss's were a general term all over Europe. Yes, I am in Germany.

JumpRope Both things, but probably more the second thing as I suffer from noise induced migraines. There is really no break from it and we live 4 floors up so it really carries up and in the windows (closing them does not help either sadly).
