To think if your leggings have the appearance of 40 denier tights

You should not wear them as trousers.
The amount of people I see wearing very see through leggings with little crop tops or tops that sit on the waist line with their knickers clearly on show is astounding. Do people not realise that this is akin to going out in just a pair of tights and short top? Do people even look in the mirror before they leave the house?

AntoinetteCosway I'm not being mean, I'm a fair size myself with plenty of lumps and dimples. As hideous as thin leggings look on skinny girls, they look a million times worse on larger women.

YANBU, OP. It looks especially bad when somebody is overweight and is wearing leggings a size or two smaller than they actually need. Some people seem to think that squeezing into a smaller size will make them look thinner, but it seems to do the opposite and accentuate every lump and bump. IMO, even very slim people don't look good in overly tight leggings with short tops.

People can wear what they like, but shouldn't be too surprised to receive unwelcome stares if they make a spectacle of themselves.

They look even worse on bike riders. Way too much jiggling. I have a lovely bum but I wear a long top when I'm on my bike. I'm considerate like that.

Seeing knickers is a turn off. Seeing men's pants above their jeans is also a turn off.

Lots of people in leggings though so they must be popular.
