If you go to this court? A mum who drank a huge amount of wine, then got in her car knowing she had no insurance and drove at high speed into two bungalows, knocking out the brick exteriors ruining homes rendering two families homeless and putting people's lives in serious danger, being vocal at the scene and three times refusing a breath test.
Got a two year ban and £100 fine! Sorry can't link please google (Plymouth evening herald latest news)

You can't appeal a sentence because you aren't a party in the case. The Crown (i.e. the Home Secretary and the DPP in England, the Cabinet Minister for Justice and the Procurator Fiscal in Scotland) however can. Write to them, ideally through a sympathetic MP / MSP.

We have long sentencing her in the US. It doesn't particularly deter crime and now our jails are all over crowded.

Ugh, very lenient sentence. My paternal grandparents and my aunt were all killed in a horrific drink driving accident when my dad was 11. He wasn't in the car, but he bore the emotional scars all his life. Drink driving can kill.

Not a plea for sympathy or anything, it didn't happen to me. But it sounds like in this woman's case the only reason nobody was maimed or killed is because of sheer good luck. I doubt the families who were made homeless feel particularly lucky, mind you.

Its sickening, isn't it? There's a woman who owns a trendy clothing shop in the city where I live, who was recently caught five times over the limit. At 7pm. Just down the road from me. She was not locked up, even though she must have put so many people in danger.

I feel like walking into her flipping shop and telling all the customers just what sort of person she is.
