I've had this name for ages, although I have added to it tonight.
The STP usernames make me smile when I spot them.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/03/2015 22:38

I think I wanted Mrs Sam Vimes or something but it was taken.

CarcerDun · 12/03/2015 22:39

Checking in Wink

liveloveluggage · 12/03/2015 22:47

Nc in honour of TP. Nanny Ogg has my favourite character name. I like Death too and Terry certainly made him seem a bit friendlier.

MrsCakesPrecognitionisSwitchedOff · 12/03/2015 22:54

Bugger. NC didn't work properly. I shouldn't really be allowed around anything vaguely tech at the moment.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 12/03/2015 23:02

I didn't but have NC in honour Smile

TheSoulCakeDuck · 12/03/2015 23:34

me

the world is a poorer place tonight Sad

TheArchchancellorsHat · 12/03/2015 23:39

Checking in (sadly).

Ookmybanana · 12/03/2015 23:42

Me. Librarian related. So sad that my gateway to Discworld has gone. I will need to start the books from the beginning again.

Didactylos · 12/03/2015 23:48

nevertheless.... the turtle moves

Nanny0gg · 13/03/2015 00:01

Nanny Ogg has my favourite character name.

Grin

First one since I heard the news...

Now crying again.

Buggrit. Too many stories still to be told.

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/03/2015 00:10

Last time I got to this thread in 9 minutes. I feel slower and sadder now.

Puffy eyes and no new books to read.

I think I'll dig out Good Omens tonight and read what Neil Gaiman has to say about Terry.

TheSweeper · 13/03/2015 00:16

Very sad news. The dc will never know the joy of waiting for a new Pratchett book. Sad

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/03/2015 04:03

No related name here but Terry Pratchett saved my life. I have read and re-read his books through suicide attempts to keep me from re-trying. I also require 3 discworld books a day when I'm in hospital or I get cranky and bored.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 13/03/2015 08:47

Oh Ebwy Sad

His books are all still there. Like old friends. You can read them whenever you like, as many times as you like.

octarine · 13/03/2015 09:01

I'm only lurking here but that's my go to username on forums so I've registered.
This has to be the first time in my life I've cried when someone famous passed away.

moonbells · 13/03/2015 09:18

I too cried at my desk yesterday and had to explain why.

I've had UNSEEN UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT on a (burnt) plaque on my office door for the entirety of my time here. Nobody has ever asked me to remove it. Very few have got the joke (I'm a research scientist).

I have two signed books where he actually wrote to moonbells, Head of R&D, Unseen University. (And was highly amused at being asked!)

Going to re-read Carpe Jugulum, as it's got the Nac Mac Feegle, witches and Death in. While listening to Steeleye Span's Wintersmith. Loudly.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 13/03/2015 09:24

I've never cried at a celebrity's passing either. This is different though. I feel as though I intimately knew all those characters. Went through stuff with them. Shared in their angst. Watched them develop. Just got to know them really. To think that the brilliant mind that produced them all has gone now, doesn't seem possible.

I hope you'll all join me by wearing lilac on the Glorious 25th of May in honour of TP.

That's the bank holiday isn't it? In half term.

That's the day we're taking the kids to Harry Potter world. Got that date ingrained in my soul. We're supposed to be going at Easter but I didn't realise how fast the place got booked up. I'm sure I can sneak a bit of lilac about my person.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 13/03/2015 10:10

checking in... named for something in my favourite book :)

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 13/03/2015 10:27
