To think that I can't be open minded about something this creepy?

I was trawling through Amazon for the purpose of updating my Kindle with all the free/cheap books I could find, when I came across this

'Tom rescues Ruthie from an abusive relationship, and during a three-week stay at his cottage on the coast, gives her the opportunity to truly be herself. During this time she acts out some of her fantasies as she relinquishes her insecurities and responsibilities, experiencing some of the carefree activities of childhood - including fun on the beach, donkey rides, cuddles, playing with toys and dressing in cute little girl clothes. So convincing is her little girl persona that the local shopkeeper thinks she is Tom's young daughter.'

I thought I was pretty open minded, anything goes between two consenting adults, etc etc, but really?

I get that some people are into very different things, but I just find this bloody weird. The man in this book gets a girl to pretend to be his daughter so he can fuck her? What?

Are people actually into this sort of thing?

is hopelessly naive

SGB that is a very good question. I'm a big fan of Midsomer Murders and Agatha Christie that's my limit. I find writers like Val Macdermid extremely problematic.

Waltermittythesequel · 06/08/2014 00:03

The author had left a note saying this utterly disturbing story was brought about after he pondered missed opportunities...

Ugh, I haven't a clue what he wrote but that sentence sent chills down my spine.

Dinosaur Porn!!!

Just when you think you've heard it all, along comes MN. And dinosaurs, apparently.

I don't have a problem with age play per se (while, I hasten to add, not being into it myself). Sexual preference is formed early on and is not the fault of the person who has it, and there's plenty of evidence that more people than most of us would expect have some sort of sexual attraction to teenagers (though attraction to pre-pubescent children is blessedly rare). The reason we don't know about it is that most people who have the attraction don't act on it.

I think age play fills a niche, allowing people who never asked to be sexually interested in teenagers to have sex without doing anything immoral.

I want to point out that any knowledge I have around paedophilia is because of my work, not because I am a paedophile!

Thank you, Moomin for your synopsis and adding a je ne sais quoi to my evening. "Stud, her alien lover"! Grin

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 06/08/2014 00:40

Here's another riveting-sounding one - 'Sluts In Space', with the tagline 'In space, no-one can hear you cum' Hmm

MurkyMinotaur · 06/08/2014 00:44

Well we all used to be children. When I watched a documentary on things like this, I got the impression the people were obsessed with their own childhood, rather than with actual children.

I clicked the link.
I will never be recommended good old crime fiction or adventure stories again [sob]

PoirotsMoustache · 06/08/2014 16:57

From the product description:

Ruthie has a secret... and a chance encounter with a wonderful older man called Tom enables her to share that secret, connect emotionally with him and accept who she really is - an adult 20 year-old woman who enjoys being a little girl, disciplined by her loving Daddy (Bold mine)

Um, ewww.

AlexVause82 · 06/08/2014 17:12

urgh anyone read the reviews?

fromparistoberlin73 · 06/08/2014 17:15

I have acquaintances who are in their early 30's and pretend to be fairies (to the point where they have changed their names and will not be known as anything else)

where the FUCK do you live!?? To know one person, OK. But in the plural? do you live in the Enchanted Wood???

fromparistoberlin73 · 06/08/2014 17:16

yes the reviews! here is my favourite

It's about a relationship between Daddy Tom and
Ruthie. Ruthie has always fantasised about age play and Tom
understands all her needs and meets them, with lots of spankings and
some humiliation, which Ruthie likes rectal thermometers, enemas,
and diapering made this story exciting and I could sense Ruthie's
emotions she was embarrassed and yet she enjoyed it too. The book
was well written. I loved it and I'd like to read more from this
author.

AllHailTheBigPurpleOne · 06/08/2014 17:19

Right, my brain is now beyond warped. I am calling myself Gossamer Bluebell from now on and I am going to have to read dinosaur porn. That's just mental.
What next, toasters getting it on with the hoover? Maybe I should self publish.

on the age play thing, ick ick ICK and that author is seriously creepy

Bue · 06/08/2014 18:02

"diapering made this story exciting". God help us!!

I now have suggestions for Alien Tentacle Porn coming up on Amazon Sad Confused

ValerieTheVodkaFairy · 06/08/2014 21:29

AllHail think someone has got there before you.
