To be so excited about the new series of Doctor Who I could turn inside out?

Fucking hell. It's exactly a year today since we found out Peter Sexpaldi was going to be the 12th Doctor and now there are just over two weeks left until I can finally get my teeth into him. I just know he's going to be AMAZING because he's a ridiculously brilliant and wonderful actor.

AIBU to turn inside out? It would probably mean I'd have trouble entertaining the kids for the rest of the holidays and might not get anything productive done.

YANBU Grin

Rafanderpants · 04/08/2014 19:24

and I hope if they bring back the master they have someone decent, not John Sim who is a good actor but no pantomime/Emporor Ming type like Delgado, Ainley and Roberts were.

THEMS the Master!

QuintessentiallyQS · 04/08/2014 19:25

I think we should all change to Dr Who related names...

Rafanderpants · 04/08/2014 19:29

LOL! Im torn between retaining my tennis related name I have now as the U S Opens soon, or choosing a Who name.

reasonably excited but as there will be a showing of the first episode well before it comes on TV, and I don't like spoilers, this is my first and last appearance on a DW thread until after 23 Aug.

(disappears with a strange wheezing, groaning sound like the trumpeting of a thousand elephants...)

Minisoksmakehardwork · 04/08/2014 20:03

Yanbu. Dh and I are tempted so see it at the cinema if we can get babysitters.

squoosh · 04/08/2014 20:08

Yes, YABVU.

I'm eternally baffled that people get themselves in such a state of near hysteria over some cheapo Saturday teatime show.

I'm clearly missing the gene.

JimBobplusasprog · 04/08/2014 20:09

Ooh yanbu at all. I have been resorting to listening to cds of the how to train your dragon series read by David Tennant as a form of withdrawal therapy it's been so long. And mmmm it'll be so much nicer when the Doctor is older than me again.

I highly recommend the dr Who experience in Cardiff as a summer holiday excursion if you are anywhere nearby. We had a fantastic day there and the staff were all lovely and very knowledgeable to the point of neediness about the Doctor. And you can get right up close to Captain Jack's costume.

browneyedgirl86 · 04/08/2014 20:12

I'm taking DP to the dr Who experience on Sunday. It's for his birthday and it's a surprise. He doesn't even know we are going to Wales. He loves dr who. I cam take it or leave it but I'm excited for the weekend!

*can. Silly tablet

LucilleBluth · 04/08/2014 20:23

Ohhhhhhh, I can't wait, DS1 & 2 are making tardis cakes and we are having our own premiere in the living room......DD aged 3 and DH aren't invited ;)

I'm also excited for the GBBO tomorrow, we go on holiday on Thursday but it's on series record..... I know I'm sad.

......and shoot me now but the return of good TV gets me in the mood for Autumn, the nights will be drawing in before you know it :)

NynaevesSister · 04/08/2014 21:46

YANBU at. all.

PiperRose · 04/08/2014 21:51

YANBU at all, at, at all. Woooooooo-oooooooooo, woooooooo-ooooooooo. (That's the theme tune by the way)

CallMeExhausted · 04/08/2014 22:02

Going with my DS on August 30th to meet the 11th doctor, Amy Pond and Rory.

That is all Grin

Anarchy99 · 04/08/2014 22:09

Me too - I have been ridiculously over excited since they announced PC as the new Doctor and the anticipation is keeping me going! Have loved Doctor Who since I was three (Jon Pertwee) and the news that PC had got the gig sent me over the edge!

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 05/08/2014 09:26

Hmmmm. I can totally understand people don't get it, but I'm not entirely sure anyone could call it cheap!

I bought tickets to see it at the cinema. I just couldn't resist! I loved the 50th cinema experience. I am so excited by this because I just knoooow he's going to be perfect.

I also bought tickets for the symphonic thing next year too. Right at the front.

Thanks for the heads up on that chat thread too.
