Another one has just gone. One which could have done with staying and just having certain posts deleted.

Not even a deletion message.

Ffs.

Ie 'she' is a twisted bastard

SqueakySqueak · 03/08/2014 22:19

Out of curiosity. How can they tell if an OP is being genuine or not? It's not like anyone can really provide proof for any of their stories here on MN.

thereturnofshoesy · 03/08/2014 22:20

so op is a troll
makes up astory
an people get upset by it
yet both sides are ridiculous
fuck off

Seriously I don't want a voice on here to educate people.

I want people to stop posting goady crap.

And others to stop falling for it and posting equally vile things.

And flaming me for reacting to the trolls.

It should have been deleted earlier.

slithytove · 03/08/2014 22:26

Just had a family bar of cadburys marvellous creations Grin so I think you need at least a bottle!

It would be interesting to know how hq figure out a poster is a troll. But if they told us all their secrets, they would have to kill us.

Question - if a thread is wonderful in content, informative, non argumentative etc, but the OP is found to be a troll, why should it be deleted? If the content is good?

Couldn't the OP posts be deleted and the thread locked? They move on so much, and it feels like a waste of people's time and emotions to delete it.

Fanjo - she was a twisted bastard. I hope she didn't get what she wanted, in that before it went, many posters were sharing valid stories and helping to educate people like me. And I know I wasn't the only one.

OP posts:
slithytove · 03/08/2014 22:27

Maybe you don't want to educate people. But maybe some do. And better to have that as a side effect than not at all?

I appreciate that thread really hurt you as it didn't me and therefore I'm perhaps not best placed to comment. But I found it informative.

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:27

The content wasn't good. It was full of disablism and I was flamed soundly

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:28

I don't think anyone would prefer to educate rather than not read such posts.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:29

We are dealing with enough to be finding time to be hurt and then educate people

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:29

Without finding time I mean. Am tired

SwedishEdith · 03/08/2014 22:29

Didn't see it but there's another older thread that plenty of poster have said needs dell
deleting but, still, it's there

slithytove · 03/08/2014 22:29

I'm obviously not saying the disabilist content was good. But there were posters sharing your view points who openly said threads like that one could educate. Which it did.

The collateral damage could have been avoided with better moderation of the individual posts.

OP posts:
LoveBeingInTheSun · 03/08/2014 22:29

You do know this one will go also

Deverethemuzzler · 03/08/2014 22:30

She was a troll.
She made it up
But there were a whole lot of people agreeing with the troll and defending her right to be upset about the whole made up bunch of crap.
Boy do they look idiotic now.
At least we know who thinks what about people with SN now.
Which is one food reason these threads should stay.
Deleting them allows people to slink back under their rocks

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:30

Has been a crap day due to troll tbh.

And was quite looking forward to my Sunday before back to work /caring etc.

Still at least they got their sad jollies

slithytove · 03/08/2014 22:30

I know Fanjo. I'm sorry. I know it was shit for you tonight in ways I can't guess at.

I do not mean to add to that.

The OP was a cunt.

Many posters were great and I'm grateful I know a little more and can be better in future.

OP posts:
fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:31

Damn right mrsdv. Although I believe a couple of them were also trolls

thereturnofshoesy · 03/08/2014 22:31

why should people like fanjo have to educate people?
Mn Hq said they would stop this "educate" shit and delete disablist threads/posts
now although I get it is annoying when a thread goes, and in some ways letting it stand and perhaps locking it would show people what has gone on, might be better....

there is no way that people who live with disability should have to educate.
not their job

slithytove · 03/08/2014 22:32

Good point Devere.

Yes love I guessed as much, still I hope it's not reported too quick.

Anyway, I've not had a thread deleted yet, so it can be a rite of passage for me I suppose!

Mintyy · 03/08/2014 22:33

I'm confused. Did the deletion message say it was because the op was a troll? Do they say that when they delete?

SqueakySqueak · 03/08/2014 22:33

Deleting them allows people to slink back under their rocks

Uhm. You can name change at any time. Keeping a thread that both sides are flaming each other in does nothing but drag it out and upset more people.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 03/08/2014 22:33

Anyway despite everything am sure am still a more happy and fulfilled person than the troll.
