To ask what time it's ok to complain about the music?

So I'm staying in a supposedly nice but really quite shabby and a bit naff hotel with my 5 and 1 year olds. We live abroad and are spending a few days seeing a few groups of friends during the days but not in the evenings.

So, there is very loud music coming from the function room which we appear to be on top of.... I know it's Saturday night and its wedding season (I saw someone in a bridesmaid dress so I'm assuming that's what it is) but I really was looking forward to a quiet night.... So what time am I reasonable to expect it to end? im quite an early bird so i dont think I'm really a fair judge! The kids seem to be sleeping though it so far (they had a busy day and were asleep before it got really loud)..... and would it be unreasonable to send my boys out to play in the corridor when they get up at 5.30 in the morning?

11 isnt it? just ring reception and find out the worst they can do is say tough

soapnuts · 02/08/2014 23:24

Oh you sound very sure about that 11 dekey - is that a set time or something? I can't ring reception as I've cleverly positioned the 1 year old cot right next to the phone and while he appears not to be disturbed by the music, I know as soon as I utter a word he'll be awake.... Hence why I'm frittering round on the iPad - what else to do in a dark hotel room with no mini bar to drink dry two small, sleeping children?

I would say midnight.....no fun for you on your own with two small children though.

LittleBearPad · 02/08/2014 23:47

Midnight. So not long now.

soapnuts · 02/08/2014 23:53

Ooh ooh I went to the loo and when I came back it was almost gone.... So I guess the answer is 11.50! Am quite relieved - I've been at much louder and later weddings s was worried it would go n all night. Thanks for the messaged - sleep time now - yeah!!
