To be shocked how many of you believe in karma?

Do you really or do you just say things like "what goes around comes around" and talk of karma as a turn of phrase?

I'd like to think people are kind naturally and not because they're frightened of karma?

If you do really believe, then why? Is it not like believing in magic or something? For what it's worth I do think it's a nice thought and I wish it existed!

ICanHearYou - i'm not sure many can hear you going by the responses!

Karma is not about justice, it is about action as has been explained many times now. Just because many in the west misunderstand that concept it does not make our misunderstanding true. If we are compassionate to ourselves and to others our actions are likely to lead to positive outcomes. Seeking vengeance is not in this spirit.

I believe in the power of prayer and leaving things to God....in HIS way.

The best way I had it described to me, was something totally irrelevant to the topic but it was a guy explaining to me that Buddhism has no concept of 'DreamCatcher' it can only define 'catcher of dreams'

In that same way, Karma is not 'what goes around comes around' it is just a way of describing what is a natural occurrence of behaviours and actions.
