What are Mosquitos actually for?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 12:05

I say this making Mosquitos my new enemies.

In 7 days I have been bitten, once on my toe, 7 times on my thighs, twice on my upper arm, once on my wrist, 6 times on my back and one on my boob (pervert)

I wish they'd leave me alone.

It's only the females that bite. They pollinate flowers, the males drink nectar. Food source for fish and birds. Part of the eco system

vickibee · 31/07/2014 12:10

i would imagine they are near the bottom of the food cahin and make a good meal for other spieces

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 12:10

Atleast they have a use, makes it more bearable to the itching.

I think that about viruses and bacteria.

What's in it for the virus that makes my nose fill up with snot and I feel like shit? It's not like the virus is having fun.

They just are. They just live to reproduce. Meanwhile, they occasionally make my life shit.

At least mosquitos are food for other horrible things.

And we're being plagued by them at the moment. The other night there were at least 12 of the little buggers in the bedroom. Mind you, it was really funny watching the old man trying to swat them.

So, sometimes mosquitos do have comedy value.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 12:26

Yes they do, me desperately trying not to itch my boob in public thanks to the huge bite is pretty funny.

Making more mosquitoes. Obviously.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 31/07/2014 12:32

With a sideline in stopping me sleeping.

dawndonnaagain · 31/07/2014 12:37

Avon skin so soft dry oil spray. Amazing stuff, no bites.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 12:40

I might seek that stuff out Dawn, thanks for the tip.

dawndonnaagain · 31/07/2014 12:48

Google it Tali It's great stuff. I'm lucky enough not to be nibbled too often, but my dds swear by the stuff and it seems many others do too.

dawndonnaagain · 31/07/2014 12:49

(and no, I don't work for them)! Grin

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 12:59

Its on offer atm, I might treat myself.

Ooo, thank you Tali I'll go stock up!

TotorosImaginaryFriend · 31/07/2014 13:18

Mosquito Milk is the best. I have tried everything it's the only thing that stops the vicious little bastards.

grocklebox · 31/07/2014 13:43

What an odd question. What are you for ?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 14:25

To help a Children's charity by volunteering for them, so children with cancer and various other diseases can have the support and treatment they need?

OP posts:
grocklebox · 31/07/2014 14:58

Thats what you do, its not what you are for

goodiegoodieyumyum · 31/07/2014 15:05

Vitamin b is good makes you smell different my dd has stopped being bitten since she started taking the tablets, she was covered in bites in two days so it really seems to work for her.

Jbck · 31/07/2014 15:28

My right leg looks like something from Dr Who 'cos of the little gits!

I take a reaction to them though so they look much worse. DD1 has a couple of tiny bites and you can barely see them.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 31/07/2014 15:52

The ones on my thighs normally end up the size of tax discs.

TotorosImaginaryFriend · 31/07/2014 16:45

If you do get a bite then run the hot tap on a spoon and then put the spoon on the bite. It helps the itchy feeling to go.

Pipbin · 31/07/2014 16:48

what are people for?
