To find this woman's behaviour very irritating?

DH's friend's wife had a baby girl around 6 months ago. They already have a boy, who is 3. Throughout the entire pregnancy she went on and on on FB about how she was sure that this baby was a girl, and how much she would love to have a "little princess". She also had a very twee nickname for the baby throughout her pregnancy.

She then had a girl, and of course there was lots of talk about how she now had the perfect family, and how amazing it was that she had her "princess". Status after status.

6 months later, she is still constantly doing statuses about how she now has the perfect family, and how she can't believe she has "one of each". She calls them The Perfect Pair, and is just generally very smug and irritating about it all.

She is like it in person too, although not quite as bad, but lots of talk about little princess, and how amazing it is to have one of each.

AIBU to find her irritating? Before anyone says it, I'm not jealous. I too have one of each.

the lil man and special lil lady

Good God, using the term 'lil' instead of little, is this person about 12?

And why is the girl special and not the boy?

So glad im not on Facebook like.

No ones really that happy if they need to tell everyone

PopcornFrenzy · 29/07/2014 21:52

I've got a 4 yo DS and am expecting a DD soon, the amount of people who have told me I have the perfect family is staggering, they're quite taken back when I said I wanted another boy!

SlicedAndDiced · 30/07/2014 18:28

Oh lord...

Remember that cousin I mentioned? Want to know the latest drama?

She is now at a&e....because of burns to her face and neck.....from a flipping chicken Kiev!

So tempted to put, 'Did you try ice?'

I'm just going to go sit on my hands for a bit Grin

AlpacaPicnic · 30/07/2014 19:41

Oh dear sliced she sounds like hard work...
Maybe you could buy her a copy of 'the boy who cried wolf' ? Or does that make me a bitch?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 30/07/2014 19:53

YAbu
She's loved up with her little family.
Not as "cool" about it as you are.
It's not your way, but I can't agree that I'd find it "very irritating"

unless she was younger, more attractive, or more minted that I Wink

SpeedofSound0 · 30/07/2014 20:31

I ha

SlicedAndDiced · 30/07/2014 20:34

Alpaca she has uploaded pictures of the 'severe' burn.

It is a (if you squint at it) mildly red patch of skin.

I sometimes wonder if I should take some flowers and chocolates down to the a&e staff as an apology god being related Grin

Like they aren't busy enough without her running down there every time she has a life threatening splinter or whatever it will be next week.

SpeedofSound0 · 30/07/2014 20:37

I had a friend who used to bang on about how 'her cup runneth over' with the joy that was her life.

My marriage. 'Oh my cup runneth over' etc, etc.

I turned round one day and asked her whether she meant her mooncup.

I don't see her anymore

LemonBreeland · 30/07/2014 20:44

I have hidden or deleted people for similar. I have a current fb friend who always calls her DS wee man. For some reason this intensely irritates me. Her DDs name is used but never her DSes. I almost want to ask why she didn't just use wee man on the birth certificate.

spanky2 · 30/07/2014 21:11

Wee man and calling your dcs mate. We're not mates, we are parent and child. Friend of mine has a sign in her car, parents and boy and girl dcs pictures with perfect family written underneath. Bloody cheek! Quite clearly if she looked at my FB she'd see I have the perfect family with 2 boys!
It is true about the neediness of people. I hate: the housework updates/ what I cooked for dinner/ my dc on the first and last day of infant school I'm sad they've grown up. Ggrrrr that really annoys me. Why wouldn't you want you dcs to to experience new things? Especially as two of the year2 dcs at that school died before they reached junior school. So insensitive. Ooh that has made me feel better.

nomdemere · 30/07/2014 21:23

haha Speed.

*my moon cup runneth over" has to be the next MN catchphrase, I think.

FatherDickByrne · 31/07/2014 11:08

I have FB friends who call their kids Ms 4.5 and Mr 2. Makes me boak.
