Having a minor disagreement with dp.

We're in the UK, and ok yes it's been hot, but dp wants to sit with all the windows closed, the curtains shut, and the air con on, in the house.

I keep opening all the blinds, curtains and windows and when he gets in from work he goes round closing them all and puts the air con on.

I appreciate that this may cool the house down quicker, but I want some natural light and fresh air. There's no sunlight blaring through the window.

He's moaning about insects and people seeing him.

of course yabu, vampires are cool!

Well I may well turn into one if I don't get some daylight!

(although worrying about insects seeing him is a level of modesty that's new on me, HeBU )

Oh gosh I walked into that one didn't I? Of course I mean he's worried about the insects getting in, and the people seeing him.

YANBU. Your partner is. It has been a lovely 22 degrees here in sunny South Yorkshire so no need for zircon. Is really that much hotter where you are?

No no no I've had the exact same argument with my husband in reverse!

I want the house keeping cool with the blinds down all day and the windows kept shut to keep the hot air out. Then open all the windows when it's not so scorching, he is weird like you and wants the scorchy hot air & light infiltrating!

Oh, YANBU, I hate it if blinds etc are down during the day!
I love light pouring into the house, so much so that we only have blinds up in the bedroom!
Actually, I tell a lie, we have one in the living room, but it is only used when we have guests sleeping in it as it is east facing

It's been reaching 27 degrees but today was cooler. To be fair I've been out and about all day so not opening windows until 6pm ish, there's a nice breeze and like to make the most of the light nights.

Yabu.
But I am a goth and like sitting in the dark and waiting for Lestat to arrive....

I usually like lots of light but I've had the blinds down the last few days, it does make it cooler.
