For an offensive remark?

I think you were well within your rights. You told him off for racist homophobic fatist behaviour.

SanityClause · 28/07/2014 15:30

You were right to call him on it, as you would be in an adult had said the same thing.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

Yanbu, how horrible for you. Don't worry the mother will one day get a taste of the trouble her precious darling will get into.

PleaseJustShootMeNow · 28/07/2014 16:11

As a pp said, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Sorry you had to go this. If one of mine came out with something like that I'd be mortified and they'd never see the light of day again.

Sorry you suffered that nasty experience, OP

That was more than just offensive, it was criminal. The penalties for hate speech include fines and / or imprisonment.

It sounds like the mother is the one who really needs disciplining. You might actually help that boy if you reported this offence on 101. Sounds like he is having a warped upbringing, which could bring him serious trouble later.

backbystealth · 28/07/2014 16:41

I'm so sorry, you must have been very upset/shaken up by such a horrible verbal attack.

I do feel extremely sorry for this child though. I can see why you and others are calling him horrible and 'a little turd' but he's clearly a product of his inadequate upbringing.

Let's aim our anger solely at his mother.

She either encourages him in this behaviour or doesn't give a shit.

MarmaladeShatkins · 28/07/2014 16:45

YANBU at all.

I probably would have pinned the mother to the baked beans by her neck. Well done on your relative restraint.
