to wonder where all the protests about the ethnic cleansing of Christians in Iraq and Syria by Islamists is going to happen?

While the whole world is focused on the terrible tragedy in Gaza, in Iraq and Syria, the beleaguered Christians are being forced to convert, pay protection money to the Islamists or die. Christians who have been living in the Middle East for thousands of years are being ethnically cleansed and nobody is marching for them. Why not???

I think we march because we think it will affect the situation. Israel's position NEEDS support, primarily from the US. I also feel that they are a 'developed, First World' country, for good or bad, attacking a beleaguered poverty-stricken country. Marching might make a difference.

Marching against the actions of people who don't care what I think seems pointless. It's like Russia. They are quite happy for the US and Western Europeans to hate them, so marching just reinforces their feelings and position.

No one other than ISIS agrees with what's going on in Iraq. The world may not be in agreement as to how to deal with them but I'm not seeing much in the way of international support for ISIS. By contrast the situation in Gaza is more of an issue internationally because you have the Palestinian cause and the Israeli cause. I think the amount of information now being shared from Gaza is making the cause of the Palestinians more mainstream.
