To ask him to chickensit?

OK,
NDN always feeds the chickens and the cat when we go away .
But a few weeks ago he had a rant at us about the shared fence and basically wanted us to pay for all the repairs etc. etc.
Anyway, he acknowledged he was in the wrong in the end and gave a rather half hearted apology for shouting.
Now, we're away in a few days for 2 weeks.
I think we should ask another neighbour to feed the cat etc. but DH thinks it will look like we're bearing a grudge if we don't ask him.
So, do I ask him and risk him saying no and thinking we're cheeky to have asked so soon after a big falling out, or do I ask other NDN and risk him thinking we're still being arsey with him?

You could ask him how he would feel about looking after them rather than actually asking him to do it then you could see how the land lies.

Do you pay him or do things in return? Just wondering if the neighbour feels if he's being taken advantage off and the fence is part of a bigger problem.

we always used to look after his cat till it died ( not when we were looking after it!). We take in his parcels etc.
He's just stroppy at times. He has form for falling out with neighbours but is usually pretty friendly with us ( till he went off on one about the fence)

If that's the case, then the best thing to do is as Strawdolly suggests. Hopefully he'll be pleased that he hadn't ruined the friendship. Bty, what about the fence? Are you going to fix it?

NDN got a spare panel from other neighbour and we fitted it in so sort of fifty fifty effort from both sides.

Can I have your neighbour. He's sounds like a sweetie compared to mine. Grin

It doesn't sound like there should be a problem, TBH.

When I glanced at the thread title my brain added an extra letter to "chickensit" Blush
