Yesterday: tennis, long bike ride, park (ping-pong, scooting, climbing trees, paddling pool). Got him to sleep (read into submission) at 9.30 and he woke me up at 6.45.

He's storing up his sleep requirements for tomorrow, isn't he? He'll be impossible to get out of work in time for holiday club... Off to the bloody park for more tennis and it's not even 8.30 yet.

All reasonable suggestions considered - drugs, drink (for me), blunt but non-permanently damaging implements to the cranium, selling him to the local chimney sweep, duck tape.

I've been considering setting up a giant hamster wheel in the garden for our DS so that we can save on the electric.

Sacrifice your garden and let him "find" a treasure map that requires lots of digging.

Get a trampoline

Join a holiday tennis club where they play all day?

My DD is the same....also 6. We found that the only thing that worked last week, was for her to ride 2 miles to school and 2 back, then ride 3 to the swimming baths, swim for an hour and then go to the park. That worked.

Exercise does not tire out my DS. He can run for hours and not tire out. At his recent rebound therapy session after 2 hours of constant bouncing all the other children (who had longer and more frequent breaks than DS) where all red and out of breath and wanting to go home. DS was jumping around squealing happily.

But if he has to deal with social situations, he tires out really quickly and sleeps for hours and sometimes needs a nap. It's hard work to him and makes him tired.

Exercise is easy because he has special spiderman powers or something.

That is why people get trampolines!

They are the equivalent of hamster wheels

Alas back yard too small for trampoline. Good to know I'm not alone.
