To ask you to help me name my new horse?!

Exactly that really! She's a pony actually, 13.2hh, New Forest, bay mare. She's arrived with a name I really don't like and because she's comparatively young I'm going to change it.

I need a sweet, soft, gentle name. She's ever so laid back. I can sort of feel the right name hovering in my mind but can't quite grab it!

Any ideas ladies?!

Is this the pony you got for your daughter? Does she not have any ideas?
(You may end up with Fairywings Glitterhooves, though.)

hashtagwhatever · 27/07/2014 03:03

Once I renamed one of my horse's, she then got navicular a few months after we had brought her. Never changed a name since.

But if you are, how about toshca.

GodDamnBatman · 27/07/2014 03:32

Epona
Shadowfax

theclockticksslowly · 27/07/2014 04:10

Eve or Eva?

mimishimmi · 27/07/2014 07:09

Kesali

It means 'forest spirit'.

Bearandcub · 27/07/2014 07:13

Gertie

Bearandcub · 27/07/2014 07:14

Or Claire (just because one is pissing me off and this would amuse me).

amy83firsttimer · 27/07/2014 07:22

Edie?

girlynut · 27/07/2014 07:26

Lotte (Lott-ie)

Shroomboom · 27/07/2014 07:29

I had a pony called Rosie Grin

What about Polly? Probably too close to Molly though…

Love Blossom!

Bearandcub · 27/07/2014 08:22

Ooh ooh ooh Molly Me-pony!

Bearandcub · 27/07/2014 08:41

Or Yoni my pony.

Imbroglio · 27/07/2014 08:48

If you don't like rosie and wabt to change the name by stealth, how about looking through a rose directory and calling her that? eg Peace Rose (but not that!)

Imbroglio · 27/07/2014 08:49

Sorry - finding a rose name

Booboostoo · 27/07/2014 08:56

Keep in mind that for competition purposes (affiliated) you have to stick to the passport name (only mentioning this because you were asking about competing the other day). How are things going with her?

Lesnewth · 27/07/2014 10:09

I'm liking Yoni Grin

Imbroglio · 27/07/2014 10:25

'Slap', as in 'Slap the Pony'?

I'll get my coat.

Cockadoodledooo · 27/07/2014 17:57

I've just realised who you are op. Is this one an additional pony then? Only on your last thread you said you'd got a Welsh B boy.

JustDontWantToSay · 27/07/2014 22:53

Pheonixisrising - THANK YOU! You get a gold star. The horse is now indeed called Elsie which ties in nicely with my 7yo dd obsession with Elsa and Anna :)

I'm truly very grateful xxx

My DD's imaginary horse is called 'Elsa Power Factor'

Grin
ChelsyHandy · 28/07/2014 00:47

You needed a five page thread to rename a horse "Elsie"?

susiella · 28/07/2014 16:01

My 13.2hh NF mare is called Poppy (Haven Poppy) she's 5.
She's lovely now but not so lovely when we got her. She had been treated as a pet + tit bitted on demand by previous owners + nipped us when we didn't oblige!
I've also got Arlo 17.3hh IDxTB + Twinkle 11hh Section A. Now she is a madam. Congrats on your new pony. I like Florence as a mare's name.
