Am I being unreasonable to think cleaners get a hard time on mumsnet ?
They are either breaking hugely expensive loo seats or are sat about smoking or not stacking the dishwasher correctly !

Some cleaners do; perhaps it's justified. Statistically there will be some shockers.

I've had some dreadful ones.h

Chronically accident-prone (in 18 months 'broke' two irons and a fridge and dropped the Hoover downstairs), some snoops, a feckless one who watched telly and drank tea then squished febreeze at the sound of my key.

I currently have an absolute treasure who see and deals with things I've never even thought about.

Maybe partially issue is with ability to employ someone and be a good employer?
i.e - to deal with issues as they arise and react to them appropriately and in good time, not allowing tension to mount and get out of proportion

From what I've seen it's mainly those who employ them who get a hard time....

I think the smoking one was a fabrication! I do love a good cleaning thread. Op asks a genuine question about their cleaner... 7 posts down a 'helpful' poster asks incredulously 'why don't you do it yourself'? As if not doing your own cleaning makes you a failure as a human being

I love my cleaner. Worth her weight in gold.

YABU to put the word 'Discuss' at the end of your post. It's really, really wanky.

Had a cleaner who stole from us and had one who, without asking if it would be ok, brought her dc to our house and let the play with and break ds's toys. Same cleaner turned up on a day she wasn't meant to allegedly to do extra cleaning that we hadn't agreed on (so the dogs weren't shut away) then complained that the dogs trapped her in the living room and wouldn't let her leave. I had to go rescue her...

Can't bring myself to try out another yet
