To have told her....

Walking into Morrisons. Lady in front of me had marks on the back of her dress (light grey maxi dress). From location of marks it looked as though she had her period and had suffered a leak.

Would you have told her?

Would you have wanted to know?

Absolutely. I would want to know and would let another woman know.

Icimoi · 11/07/2014 17:39

Yes, I think I would want to be told. I'd be mortified if I later discovered I'd potentially been wondering around town like that for hours.

Sirzy · 11/07/2014 17:39

I would have wanted to be told BUT at the same time I would have been so embarassed I wouldn't have known how to respond.

LEMmingaround · 11/07/2014 17:44

So did you tell her?

Fourarmsv2 · 11/07/2014 17:46

Yes, because I'd have wanted to know. I hope I did it tactfully. :(

You were right.

What was her response?

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 11/07/2014 17:49

How did she react?

Gileswithachainsaw · 11/07/2014 17:50

I'd have wanted to know.

How did she take it

fluffyraggies · 11/07/2014 17:52

Oh god we all dread this.

I'd have told her if i got the chance to do it discretely. What did she say? Was she grateful or angry. Shoot the messenger sort of thing?

Fourarmsv2 · 11/07/2014 17:54

I just said 'excuse me, I think you might have split something on your skirt'. She said 'oh really' and pulled her dress to look. I quickly walked away (we were going to cafe).

We'll handled :) much more tactfully than anything I could've thought of!

AllHailTheBigPurpleOne · 11/07/2014 17:57

I have just Blush reading this thread.
This happened to me in my teens. At a gymkhana. In white jodhpurs.
nobody told me and I nearly died. I had to tie a jumper round my waist for the rest of the afternoon.
I was just glad it was a kiddies event, no turnout prize!

PinkSquash · 11/07/2014 17:58

That's nicely handled. I'll have to remember that one for future use!

BarbarianMum · 11/07/2014 18:01

I still bless the lady who stopped me in the park one day and told me the seat of my trousers had split. It was embarrassing for both of us but I am sooo glad she did.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 11/07/2014 18:03

I would have had to tell her, just because the alternative would be so much worse for her.

Very tricky though, well done you.

Fluffyears · 11/07/2014 18:09

I had to tell a girl I saw that her dress was completely see through in sunlight. It was cringey but thought I'd like someone to let me know.

Fourarmsv2 · 11/07/2014 19:50

Glad that most people would have wanted to know :) The type of clothing made it much more noticeable. It's happened to me in dark trousers many times but isn't as obvious.... I hope!
