Posting here for traffic, so my apologies....

DD aged 4.5 simply must have this bloody dress

I have come to the conclusion that it will make the impending 6 weeks summer hols more enjoyable for us all especially since millions of her friends with organised yummy mummies have managed to get one and we have not

I am not prepared to pay silly money for a genuine one on e bay, so am going to get her a copy... anyone bought one of these, are they any good?

I am thinking along the lines of Etsy, despite there being several copies on e bay for about a fiver I am guessing these are not made at all ethically Hmm

Any advice greatly appreciated, TIA

Apparently asda do a nice version

DonnaMoss · 10/07/2014 09:03

I think I paid about 12 quid for dd's from Amazon if thats what youre talking about. Never occurred to me to think ethically Blush

Sendintheshiraz · 10/07/2014 09:04

Out of stock from all the retailers I have tried, including Asda :-(

They come into stock in the Disney store regularly now, we got one for my niece a few weeks ago on the first day we tried.

I share your frustration, that bloody plush doll is going yo be the death of me.

Good luck on finding one

whitepuddingsupper · 10/07/2014 09:18

The entertainer has a version in stock.

MrsWinnibago · 10/07/2014 10:33

Send I am making my DD one. I am going to make a BEAUTIFUL version and if you want, I will send you the details of it so you can copy it. It won't be done for a week but I don't mind sending the details on how if you want?

ediblewoman · 10/07/2014 10:51

Mrs W - can I sayask for the details please?

grobagsforever · 10/07/2014 11:06

I ended up paying forty pounds on amazon and then anothet twelve on ebay to secure gloves which were essential it seemed. It is her birthday present though and she has her heart set on it. I've been had. ..

KateSpade · 10/07/2014 11:22

I've been thinking about making one for DD, if I manage it, the only part I'm bothered about is the pattern for the shoulder less sleeves, I've never done anything like that and chat quite work it out in my head,

It may have to be a round neck to start with, and once it's all together I'll chop the top off..

Yes I bought one from eBay ( china) £2.99 and £5.99 postage it arrived just after a week , it's gorgeous and brilliant quality . Dd loves it and everyone asks where we got it from.

Liney15 · 10/07/2014 11:26

Some in stock at Toys r us - luxury elsa dress for delivery at £19.99 and Anna dresses as well. Not sure what the quality is like though.

SoonToBeSix · 10/07/2014 11:26

Most clothes shipped to the uk are sent from
China , no reason to suspect these are made less ethically than the clothing shops buy. Especially as shops would pay much less then £2.99 as a unit price.

Liney15 · 10/07/2014 11:29

Sotobesix can I be nosy and ask who the seller was? As a bit unsure about buying from China.

I was interested in the toys r us one but have just read on the reviews on the Smyths sire which look to be the same dress and it isn't meant to be good quality.

jopickles · 10/07/2014 12:05

I got one from itsy bitsy personalised gifts on facebook it was £13 and while its not the official Disney one its lovely and more practical as it doesn't have the big hoop in the skirt meaning they can actually sit down in it

Timeisawastin · 10/07/2014 12:08

There is a lady on Facebook who makes lovely dresses and the Frozen ones seem to be her speciality. Look up 'Lulu in a Tutu' :-)

Sendintheshiraz · 10/07/2014 13:11

Thanks all.

Some great ideas - not a cats chance in hell of me making one I'm afraid as my Singer is ancient, and broken!!

Very good point re ethics and retailers, I suppose it crossed my mind as you're more conscious of the origins of a product when buying online.

I will explore e bay and Etsy some more, thanks again

SoonToBeSix · 10/07/2014 20:57

vipli0528 is the eBay seller Liney, price has actually reduced. The dress come up small 3- 4 was perfect for my petite 3 year old.

BettyBolognese · 10/07/2014 20:59

Do you have a smyths near you? They seem to have them!

Moodykat · 10/07/2014 21:01

People on the Christmas thread seem to have bought them from AliExpress. They come from China but are apparently lovely.
