Orange/EE Website

Generally I don't have a word of complaint to make about Orange however their website is driving me potty.

I am off on holiday so wanted to log onto my account and check what was set up for international internet etc.

So I go to Orange this has now been moved to the EE website. I log in but have restricted access. I need to upgrade my account to see it all. I need my account number to upgrade which can be found on my original paper work or bills.

I have been a member of Orange for a long long time so no original paper work. All my bills are online. I cannot see my bills as I need to upgrade to full access to do so...

So I call them up and get my account number after 10+ minutes on hold.

Put it into the website and nothing.

In the mean time every time I log in to try it asks for my preferred email address which I have to verify with in 24 hours. Every time I try and verify it says there is a problem with their website and they are working hard to fix it. After 24 hours I need to type in my email address again and try and verify it again.

AIBU to think that they should have sorted their website since last flaming Friday.

Grumbles.

YANBU, I had a similar problem getting full account access on O2 and it took several calls (over a few days) to get it sorted out.

honeybeeridiculous · 09/07/2014 22:43

Me too, its shite
im now with ee and DS with orange, both phones on my account. It seems to have blown their minds as I cannot access anything online. Every time it says technical issues but when I phone they say its all fine, aaagh I feel your pain.

CiderwithBuda · 09/07/2014 22:52

They are all crap.

Just upgraded my phone and went with EE as that is who I thought I was with. Wanted to keep old number. Was told it would take 48 hours to transfer. No number transfer. Phoned. Told 3 to 5 days. Nothing. Phoned. Turns out I was still on TMobile so needed a PAC code. Complained it had taken a week till they told me. Was told they could issue it in 6 hours. So I said not good enough as I have been waiting a week already and if I don't have it within an hour I will cancel contract and move to O2. So I was asked if I had paper and a pen to take down the PAC code!!!

WeBelieveInLove · 10/07/2014 06:26

YNBU I hate their website and customer service.
I took out a contract after a sales call from them after years of being happy on their Pay as you Go. They lied to me and completely failed to sort out a problem I had late last year.

My contract is coming to an end now and I am switching to Giffgaff. I don't really need a contract anyway since I always buy my own phone.

londonrach · 10/07/2014 06:34

Has anyone noticed a lack of mobile coverage with orange since it came ee. Thinking of moving to vodaphone at moment as at least the people in the local shop seem to know what they talking about and don't talk to each other unlike my local ee when I popped in re coverage and trying to top up. Got told by one ee sales lady I couldn't buy top up any more and had to go onto a contract. Shock. This is not true..... Ee website is rubbish too

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 10/07/2014 07:08

I need to change my address. Can't do it online as their website is always having technical issues.

But I can't phone them as I don't have my account number as my bills are online. FFS!!!

SuburbanRhonda · 10/07/2014 07:10

I don't like the EE website either, OP, but I always click the button to skip the step where it asks for my email address as I don't want my inbox full of crap from them.

I have stuck with them for years because they apply a discount to my monthly payments which is equivalent to what I pay - so I actually pay nothing and haven't done for years. They know about this, too, as I told them Smile

londonrach · 10/07/2014 07:13

Pop into store pobble and hope you get a member of staff who wants to help... When did things like this get so complicated. I've been trying to change an address on a shared bank account. Sent them a nice letter from hubby and me. No they need to see both of us with passport to change address. A year later (and redirection finished) we still not made it in together. In our deference it's not one of the big ones and only a couple of branches so gota make special trip together park etc....

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 10/07/2014 07:23

I've also tried twice now to change my name with them. Two different shops have faxed my marriage certificate, my name is still the same.

missw88 · 16/07/2014 10:42

Nightmare, my other half left Orange as soon as it became EE, the customer service was shocking and his signal fell drastically! Sadly, companies don't seem to care about customer service any more. Maybe going in to store would be the best option (although you shouldn't have to!)

Stinkle · 16/07/2014 11:01

YANBU!

We got rid of all our contracts and went PAYG as we weren't using up our allowances so it worked out more expensive than PAYG.

Pain in the arse

It's not just Orange/EE though, they're all equally crap.

I'm with Vodafone - every single time I want to use it there are technical issues.

DD is O2 - also always seems to be suffering with technical issues

DH is Orange - can't even create an account

I can't currently top my phone up - every time I try I get a message to say my top up was unsuccessful as I have reached my top up limits Confused I have auto top up, it's supposed to just take it straight out of my account

UncleT · 16/07/2014 21:26

Orange stink! Suffered the very worst kind of service after they helped themselves to a load of money they weren't entitled to, weeks of stress and idiocy to get it put right. Ugh. They're all as bad as each other though, that's the problem.

FatherSpodoKomodo · 16/07/2014 21:41

I found my account number with orange on some random letter they sent me. It didn't even say it was my account number but I tried it and got full access.

Not that that's any good as the website is still just as shit and I am always getting told there are technical issues.

Same with Vodafone, more technical issues, another shit website that doesn't work properly.

You'd think being in a technical business they would have people that know how to make a working website, but obviously not.

GameofPhones · 07/10/2019 22:57

Still not working properly in 2019! I have no problems with 02 or Giffgaff.
