I often read about situations (DH/DC not doing any chores for example) and wondered if people have acted on MN advice and managed to resolve situations? If so what happened? I'm always grateful when updates are posted

Not so much as advice but the variety has changed me.

I've learnt through MN that nothing you do or say will ever please everyone, so as long as you are sure in what you are doing is for the right reasons, then carry on regardless of what anyone else thinks.

This.

There is never one answer to any situation, in fact there are usually polar opposite opinions and answers to any question, so just keep calm and carry on basically. :)

But it is interesting to get different opinions.

On a personal level, I don't ask MN for advice. When I want an answer I do research and base it on facts, not an internet forum's opinion.

I agree with Squiggly and Smiles. I've also learnt I am incredibly indecisive as I agree with lots of opposing posters at the same time.

I think I have become slightly better at being calmer with the children - maybe because of reading about parenting more frequently.
