So I was doing some maintenance down below. And got out the mirror to make sure it was all nice and neat. I have not looked properly down there since birth of ds who is now 2.
I actually feel as if I am in some sort of surreal nightmare and am going to wake up soon. I can't stop crying, I am so appalled.
TMI ALERT!
Firstly, at the top inside there is what looks like a mini vagina inside my actual vagina. Like a big hanging flap of skin with large opening. It is not a uterine prolapse- I have had a good feel and cervix is where it should be. Then all around the bottom of vaginal entrance is a cluster if horrible polyp type things. And everything is all pushed together rather than there being a normal opening.
I am going to gp tomorrow. I can't believe what it looks like. I feel so horrified and full of self disgust!! Did anyone else ever look down there and get a shock!? I know this is revolting so please don't post anything mean....

Queenofknickers: yes...

I haven't seen myself down below for about 3 years now. I feel those polyp things though. I always thought they were scar tissues from my 2 tears. Everything works properly apart from my bum which is just a piley, fissurey mess after 3 babies. I think if it still has feeling its fine. DH hasn't complained!

I have never once looked down there in detail either before or after kids. Is that unusual?

divingoffthebalcony · 08/07/2014 23:52

Bless your heart, it was your urethra Grin

Really glad things aren't as dreadful as first thought.

Eyelet · 08/07/2014 23:54

His labia - I laughed so hard I woke up the baby!

PiperRose · 08/07/2014 23:58

I. AM. NEVER. HAVING. CHILDREN.

"Candles, wine, get it on"

Another one here who needs a trip to the opticians- I read that as CARDIES and was slightly bemused for a minute...

I for one was very glad when the Vagina wall came out- I'd always thought I looked a bit 'odd' down there and was immensely reassured to find out that I didn't.

Happydaysatlastforthebody · 09/07/2014 00:09

shodan if cardies do it for you so be it! Grin

piper Grin personally sex far better now as we are older and we sleeeeeeep.

mathanxiety · 09/07/2014 00:09

Hope you are all doing your kegel exercises daily.

Coumarin · 09/07/2014 00:17

How would you know if your vagina was 'normal'?

I'm ok with my vulva. As in happy that all is how it should be. But it feels a bit odd up there. Could be perfectly A okay but how would one know?

In case anyone's wondering what I'm doing poking about, I've had lots of ivf and been ttc for 7 years. You do tend to get very familiar with your reproductive system and genitals.

Actually, wouldn't a nurse or consultant have noticed if all wasn't right? There's been enough if them routing about up there...

My vagina killed the thread Sad

Right, tmi alert, I've had another look and I think the bit I was Hmm about was my urethra too. A further pole and a diagram has reassured me it's all where it should be.

I'm sure you're all relieved. Wink

Coumarin · 09/07/2014 00:33

*poke not pole!

Happydaysatlastforthebody · 09/07/2014 00:36

my vagina killed the thread

Has to be up there as a mumsnet classic. Grin

Bifauxnen · 09/07/2014 00:41

I'm sure your vaginas fine coumarin Grin though your typo reminded me of the Jo Brand joke about needing one of those poles used in primary school to close the windows to use a femidom.
my murdering of the joke will probably totally kill the thread.

I predict that this thread tomorrow will be peppered with message withdrawn at poster's request messages...

Morloth · 09/07/2014 00:46

I can honestly say I don't give a fuck how my vagina/vulva looks.

It appears to be in working order and that is the end of my concern.

Polyps need checking just in case, but surely it doesn't matter what is looks like?

Bifauxnen · 09/07/2014 00:47

mine looks like Michael Gove Sad

tisrainingagain · 09/07/2014 05:41

I have never ever looked at mine out of fear of what I will see. Is that odd (genuine question)? Not before my 3 dc or after.

KnackeredMuchly · 09/07/2014 11:34

Nearly in tears here at getting your pee hole stitched closed and the poor Michael Gove Vagina!!! Grin

shouldnthavesaid · 09/07/2014 11:51

Be glad if you can look at those galleries and see one that looks like you Grin, I've never yet seen my pre surgery one except on a website where they were showing extreme examples of disorders :(

Bobulate · 09/07/2014 13:08

Federation "where do you think this bit goes???" Shock

Bifauxnen Grin that's so funny.

I think they should use this thread in schools in sex ed to put people off having children too early!
