So I was doing some maintenance down below. And got out the mirror to make sure it was all nice and neat. I have not looked properly down there since birth of ds who is now 2.
I actually feel as if I am in some sort of surreal nightmare and am going to wake up soon. I can't stop crying, I am so appalled.
TMI ALERT!
Firstly, at the top inside there is what looks like a mini vagina inside my actual vagina. Like a big hanging flap of skin with large opening. It is not a uterine prolapse- I have had a good feel and cervix is where it should be. Then all around the bottom of vaginal entrance is a cluster if horrible polyp type things. And everything is all pushed together rather than there being a normal opening.
I am going to gp tomorrow. I can't believe what it looks like. I feel so horrified and full of self disgust!! Did anyone else ever look down there and get a shock!? I know this is revolting so please don't post anything mean....

I have the polyp type things and I asked my gp to check for me and they said all fine and can come following stitches.

iamnotacoward, I am almost certain that the mini vagina that you describe is completely normal and is in fact your urethra (where the wee comes out). It does look like a bit like the cervix but it is inside the inner labia rather than right inside the vagina.

Oh my god!!! My mini vagina is actually my urethra, I checked against a diagram! How could I not have known this???? Thank you Jellybeans! I was actually going to ask my gp to sew it up!

The 'polyp' type things are probably where the tissue is more 'lax' than it was.... I had something that looked rather like a sea urchin !

But I think that's the point, those casts are so wildly different that it just shows that everyone is made differently.

I remember looking at what my GP had written in my notes at my six week check (I'd had a tear during labour). The words UNFORTUNATE COSMETIC RESULT leapt at me from the page...I felt really shit about it until I'd seen a lovely female consultant gynaecologist who told me I was perfectly normal. And DP reliably informs me that I'm beautiful and he "should know" as he spends enough time down there . So try not to let it get you down.
