am I being a dick on facebook?

I follow a couple of left wing pages, and a couple of feminist pages on Facebook.

If I agree with something, I usually click 'like', occasionally I might share something if I think it's important or interesting.

It seems I'm getting a reputation as 'very political on Facebook' and now I feel like a dick.

I suppose my defence would be that I see an awful lot of right wing and anti feminist stuff on my newsfeed and I wish to counter this.

Or am I just being a dick?

You are entitled to like whatever you want. If I t pisses people off they can either delete you or limit you on their newsfeed (if it's someone who can't delete you without causing upset). I do both regularly. I added a friend's boyfriend after I'd met him, his first post was something sexist about women and football so I deleted him immediately.

Grin at juice fucking plus!

FunkyBoldRibena · 07/07/2014 20:18

That is up to you who you want in your life but how do you decide can be around your friends?

None of my friends are right wing anti-feminist - otherwise they would not be my friends! Not too tight up top are you?

MyChemicalGerard · 07/07/2014 20:28

Not too tight up top at all Grin in fact i may be more lefty than everyone here as i accept everyone no matter what their political views may be, we are all people after all.

I use my facebook just for fun. I like following outrageous pages, cute kittens, and posting funny (mildly offensive) comments. Why should people take fb seriously?

illcounttothree · 07/07/2014 20:43

I'd take 'getting political on Facebook' as a compliment, if I were you. At least you're not getting a reputation as being a boring fucker who constantly posts pictures of the cheese sandwich they're having for lunch or those god-awful 'inspirational' messages.

Tangerinefairy · 07/07/2014 20:52

It's entirely up to you. We are all at liberty to post whatever we like on fbook. Mine is a mixture of keeping in touch with friends, some lefty political stuff, LGBT stuff, all things that are a part of me. Like most people I have my lighthearted and my serious side, my fbook page is a reflection of that. Why be embarrassed if that is what you think or believe in? It's entirely up to you. If people don't like it they might say so which is their right too. It's only an opinion, we all have them.

The fb thing I find most annoying is when people post a picture of their dinner, which is just a sloppy old lasagne or whatever, and tag it as #foodporn.

Perhaps that's how #foodporn people feel about a NoMorePage3 status ...?
