You know who you are, the "Google is your friend" or " the internet is your friend" brigade.
It's so bloody patronising, get over it.

I want people to stop saying "quit" unless they're American.

squoosh · 04/07/2014 23:25

'to stop saying' is your friend, not 'to quit saying'.

squoosh · 04/07/2014 23:25

Yes MrsW!

MammaTJ · 04/07/2014 23:26

I think there are bigger issues to get your knickers in a knot about, but if you want to get upset by this, then carry on.

KurriKurri · 04/07/2014 23:33

I wish google was my friend instead of the six foot invisible rabbit.

Garcia10 · 04/07/2014 23:35

You need to get some real problems. So trivial...

comedycentral · 05/07/2014 22:11

Fuck real problems this shit is annoying.

Google is your friend? WTF! It is annoying. Moan away YANBU!!

Morethanalittlebitconfused · 05/07/2014 22:13

I have so few friends google has a sign up saying 'gone to the pub, fuck off and use an encyclopaedia'

RobinSparkles · 05/07/2014 22:14

Google is NOT your friend most of the time. If you google health problems it usually tells you that you're dying! Shock Some friend!

Hassled · 05/07/2014 22:15

But Google really is my friend. Where does that leave me?

GobblersKnob · 05/07/2014 22:16

Pendants corner is your friend Wink

Morethanalittlebitconfused · 05/07/2014 22:16

With a friend that keeps ditching you for others

Google is a fickle friend, it's a whore of a friend who will go off with whoever clicks it in the right manner

motleymop · 05/07/2014 22:29

I used the term recently and unexpectedly when conversing with someone who was complaining of the first symptoms of a cold: "Echinacea is your friend". The words just came out.

wafflyversatile · 05/07/2014 22:32

deep breathing and a little yoga is your friend.

coffeeinbed · 05/07/2014 22:35

It's just because it makes you such a Billy no mates if you need Google as a friend.

Wah wah wah...

Anniegetyourgun · 05/07/2014 22:35

You may not like the phrase, but it's politer than "fuck off and look it up yourself, you lazy cow".

UncleT · 05/07/2014 22:41

Agree about the 'quit' thing, which is way more annoying than the suggestion that people should look up very readily available information in two seconds rather than lazily ask in open forum. On the other hand, the phrasing is patronising - 'look it up yourself, it'll take two seconds' or similar is accurate.

SaucyJack · 05/07/2014 22:58

Saw a fantastic t shirt yesterday. It said "I don't need Google. My wife knows everything."

Joysmum · 05/07/2014 23:45

Google is your friend on many occasions.

I used to get pissed off at people posting shit on Facebook thinking they are true and passing it on without checking. I got rid of the twats who leap on the bandwagon without checking their facts by Googling to check various sources.

Suzietastic · 06/07/2014 19:05

AIBU is your friend. Unless you are into lemon drizzle cake.

CoffeeTea103 · 06/07/2014 19:09

No, you get over it.
