To not go to the school fayre?

It's a summer fayre with an ice rink, so you pay to go in and the ticket includes the ice rink. There are a couple of stalls too.

I am on antibiotics for a skin infection and just started tablets for vertigo (not severe but enough to make me feel a bit wobbly) and just feel tired and a bit crap.

If we went the boys don't want to go on the rink anyway, so paying to go on it and not going on.

I feel we should support the school and normally do, but I really just don't feel like it, especially just going for a couple of stalls in reality.

OH can't take them as he is in work.

AIBU to not go, could do without spending the money (with the entry and stalls and BBQ prob £20) as we are going on holiday soon and I need every penny, and would rather use it for that.

If we could go in for free if not skating then I would consider it, but it's a lot when you aren't even doing it?

I'm probably overthinking this aren't I!

Of course you don't have to go

They haven't made it compulsory Wink

Daisymasie · 03/07/2014 15:44

You have a good excuse as you're not well. If you feel guilty about not supporting the school could you give one of the other Mums some money to buy a few raffle tickets for you, or somesuch?

Tangerinefairy · 03/07/2014 15:47

Yes you are! Just don't go and don't feel bad about it!

CoffeeTea103 · 03/07/2014 15:49

I don't understand is it compulsory? I'm just wondering you've built up a case here so who do you need approval from?

MulberryPeony · 03/07/2014 15:57

Not unreasonable at all.

YANBU
I used to help organise the things and keeping the DDs entertained all afternoon cost a fortune.

Sorry for drip feeding Blush thought I had put it in OP oops!

I kind of helped organise it, but they knew I wouldn't help on night as I have the kids so I think that's why I feel so bad.

You've done your bit for the event, now take care and get well at home.
