Well, not that pricey, just £13. Its a Toothless dragon action figure...

if you can afford it, and the child isn't in danger of becoming a brat go for it.

Fenton · 30/06/2014 14:18

Which one and how old is your child? We have a soft toy dark blue one and it has wire in its wings which has poked through. Just to be aware.

steppemum · 30/06/2014 14:29

I would buy toothless.

for me

I LOVE buying unplanned crap for my kids. It's a good thing!

BikeRunSki · 30/06/2014 15:54

I was looking for a non-princessey duvet cover for dd (2.8) Intending to spend £20 tops. Spent £60! Because it's cute and I didn't like anything else at all.

Stinkle · 30/06/2014 16:01

YANBU

I often treat my kids just 'because'. I indulged my DD2's Loom band addiction when I was in The Works earlier, she's not spoilt and I don't think a tenners worth of small elastic bands is going to cause a problem

But cute?

CorporateRockWhore · 30/06/2014 16:09

I bought an impromptu rocking horse for £150. I think you're safe. Grin

vladthedisorganised · 30/06/2014 16:09

DD really, really wanted a Toothless. My generous side (and the fact I wouldn't mind one myself) said yes, my Puritanical / devious side used it as a means to get DD to help with the housework.

You could split a chart into x squares and get your DC to do a chore x times - at the end of it they can 'earn' their Toothless. Which you have bought and hidden.

Depends on the age of your DC of course, but both sides of me felt quite happy with that arrangement.

ShelaghTurner · 30/06/2014 16:13

I'm spoiling the dds rotten at the moment with Frozen things. They're so rare that when I spot something I grab it. Their birthdays are at the beginning of Jan so it's ages to wait until an official reason to give them things. I know I'm probably turning them into awful brats but the looks on their faces is worth it.

SarcyMare · 30/06/2014 17:06

got my daughter a frozen duvet cover from next, my defense, all her covers are hand me downs from her brother

AlwaysDancing1234 · 30/06/2014 18:01

We got DS a cuddly toothless toy from Build A Bear which he adores. Bought on impulse whist out shopping, doesn't hurt to spoil him once in a blue moon as long as it's not every week!

Mrsjayy · 30/06/2014 18:56

It is for you really

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 30/06/2014 19:01

I think if you buy something and your dc loves it and appreciates it it's a lovely thing to buy them something just because.

steppemum · 30/06/2014 21:36

I just went into town to buy some loom bands, and ended up getting a kit with loom, 2,000 bands etc. It was nice, too expensive, gave it to dcs, very happy people.

It is nice to treat.

Canshopwillshop · 30/06/2014 21:40

Not at all. I love treating my DC.
