teenagers innocently entering parks, people removing their clothes in their own bedrooms or legally parked cars on public roads?

Grin Grin @ Aga

Vandalism sounds deliberate. Criminal damage - wondering if this would cover a situation whereby someone damaged a window/lock on door breaking into a property to squat there?

But really, I thought the terms were used interchangeably. Confused

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:07

And a scarf Aga; A suspicious scarf Grin

OP posts:
Pumpkinpositive · 29/06/2014 11:10

I wear a scarf up over my face in winter, particularly when travelling to Edinburgh (brrr!). I'm asthmatic.

I don't rap to myself though. yet

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:10

Well we can't really have a situation where Criminal damage isn't a police matter can we Pumpkin? Blimey this is getting confusing. (Not at the cigarette butt and suspicious hat wearing gent end of things - that isn't confusing)

OP posts:
AgaPanthers · 29/06/2014 11:11

That's because you're not a Suspicious-Looking Brown Person, pumpkin.

KarlWrenbury · 29/06/2014 11:11

we live in a rural town
mates 18 yo was stopped by police for wearing a baseball cap while walking down a road.

He had just had his ( pale blonde) head shaved for charity and didnt want to get burned.

ICanHearYou · 29/06/2014 11:12

Sorry if you are talking to me I would really like you to point out where I mentioned the ethnicity of the man?

He was/is very much white British.

Yes seeing someone purposefully covering up their face is suspicious behaviour, the police agreed with me. As I have already said.

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:13

How can you tell Pumpkin's ethnicity from there Aga?

(Personally I imagine pumpkin to be sort of orange)

Says who?

I hail from Glasgow. More tanning salons per square mile than there are fried mars bars. Grin

AgaPanthers · 29/06/2014 11:14

Ah well it's the blokes you've got to worry about you see. Women are Non-Suspicious.

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:15

Where do you live? The Outer Hebrides?

OP posts:
AgaPanthers · 29/06/2014 11:15

Unless they are men dressed up as women of course, you might want to call 101 about that. Just in case, you know.

Pumpkinpositive · 29/06/2014 11:15

How can you tell Pumpkin's ethnicity from there Aga?

I was going to make a joke about her residing in the flat across the street from me

Must resist...

ComposHat · 29/06/2014 11:16

It's like the new LTB. Doesn't matter what the op has said, it's still trotted out.

Yes, I read the three examples given in the op and wondered what the hell would possess anyone to call 101 in those instances. I bet the 101 operators are thinking 'oh fuck not another mumsnetter egged on by a bunch of busybodies calling to say they were training their binoculars on a house across the street and saw a cat in someone's front window and it looked a bit sad'

It seems that people have a mania for grassing up people. I wonder if they were the same people who ran to the teacher when they overhead 'Johnny said a swear word on the playground' and 'Elizabeth was unkind to me' when they were kids.

Dont because I can barely type for laughing at the person who wanted a poster to call the Madeline maccan police phone number to report a dream she had about her location

AND the person/s who wanted to fingerprint that bag of sex toys and womens clothes found in the loft

ICanHearYou · 29/06/2014 11:17

Well I am glad I have a pleasant relationship with my local police, most of whom I know anyway.

It is fantastic for community spirit to know you can phone with a concern or question and speak to someone who can help you.

I think they would rather more people used the service than less, that is certainly the impression I get. That might be geographical though, there is no crime here whatsoever.

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:18

I'm more interested in how a group of 'my shit don't stink' posters have decided a mans ethnicity based on him wearing a scarf and listening to rap music. Bad form guys.

AgaPanthers · 29/06/2014 11:19

See I think this chap looks more hipster than suspicious

www.123rf.com/photo_18914609_young-suspicious-looking-stylish-twister-man-in-striped-clothes-isolated-on-white-background.html

But you might want to call the cops just in case, he might be carrying some marijuanas.

KarlWrenbury · 29/06/2014 11:19

Good catch.

But, in fairness, only one poster mentioned ethnicity, didn't they?

Fideliney · 29/06/2014 11:21

That isn't quite what just happened ICan

Oh god the Madeleine McCann dream! And she was fucking serious!
Then some fools were egging her on "my great aunt Brenda dreamed that I'd meet a man with hair and a nose, and you know what? I DID! Dreams are powerful things hun, I'm sure Kate and Gerry would be really grateful for your input".
