Spending the day with a very good friend. She has a new boyfriend- they have been together for 6 months or so. He's abroad. Anyway, she keeps asking me for a selfie of the two of us all the bloody time, at his request every time. I have done agreed to 7 so far but quite honesty am about to tell her to fuck off- well to tell him to fuck off. It's beyond creepy- I haven't even met him yet! What does he need them for? AIBU?

Never ever ever ... never!

I just couldn't bring myself to do that, ever!

dillite · 26/06/2014 18:52

I wouldn't usually either, but I haven't seen her for a very long time so am trying to be nice. Even though I hate doing it.

Another request FFS!!!!!!

I avoid having my picture taken at all times. A real friend of mine would never ask me!
YABU. Just tell her you don't want any more pictures, but will happily take one of her.

DenzelWashington · 26/06/2014 19:02

I wouldn't do any. It's so tiresome.

This may be a massive jump but did anyone watch that programme on bbc3 the other night about domestic violence? The boyfriend in that kept demanding asking for selfies from the girlfriend to prove where she was and who with as a way of checking up on her.

Not saying that is what's happening here, it just reminded me.

Yanbu though, how very irritating, one or two maybe to have a couple of pics of you and your friend together but taken to be sent to a boyfriend u haven't yet met is a bit weird?!

Oh dear. Now that you mention it it does sound like something an abuser might demand. I just thought thst maybe he is super needy or insecure.

Find a random dude to join the he photo and see what happens.

After I wrote that I went to put the kiddies to bed and thought I would come back and find that I had been totally flamed for even suggesting that, I was a bit nervous to read the replies.

It was called "murdered by by boyfriend" it was really good. Was heartbreakingly sad though, based on a true story. I was close to tears at the end.

UrethraFranklin · 26/06/2014 22:35

I thought that too TruJay. It probably is a complete jump but I would never have considered sending selfies to a boyfriend as possible DV until I watched that Sad

TruJay · 26/06/2014 22:40

Me either, wasn't it awful. The photo where she was just brushing her teeth really choked me up!
