I feel quite bad.

This person is an acquaintance, She was a single parent for a few months, then she met someone who pretty much moved in, he was paying her bills for her and moved in properly earlier this year.

She has always worked full time with a salary of around 20k.

She seems to have an awful lot of money, and, as a single parent myself, I couldnt quite work it out. However, I have seen her tax credits renewal form as she didnt understand something and asked me to have a look for her, and shes claiming to be a lone parent, working 16.3 hours a week, earning 12k a year less than she actually is.

She is also claiming housing benefit as a single parent.

So, I have completed the DWP form and sent it off. I couldnt help it, it makes me see red.

But I now feel terrible.

Threads like these always point out those who are high earners and those who aren't.

We are all grown, it makes me sick to think other women are jealous of handbags, holidays and nice meals out.

Jealously will never get you anywhere in life!

I do believe this thread is genuine.

So - my opinion, your opinion....

DottyDooRidesAgain · 23/06/2014 17:57

I agree with the OP. I earn £11000 pa. I don't think that puts me in the high earner bracket.

Jealousy will get you nowhere in life.

No but neither will fraud.

usualnamechanger · 23/06/2014 17:57

I would feel awful when the child/children go hungry/become homeless.

Gulitladen · 23/06/2014 17:58

I didnt phone, i did the email thing, there was nothing to trace it back to me, so Im not going to worry, I havent told anyone in rl that ive done it as I dont want to know what happens, or to be a gossip. Ive informed the right people, they can now deal with it.

And again, I am not jealous of handbags, I have plenty of my own, I just cant see its right when someone is stealing to the tune of 6k.

She life is full of handbags, shoes, days and meals out, holidays and boozy nights out.

Kind of sounds a bit like you have reported her based on where she shops, or at least on what she buys.

longjane · 23/06/2014 17:58

Ps just the form you fill and there is nothing for tax credit s .
OP could have report them for living to together .

So otherwise this could well be Bullshit .

YouTheCat · 23/06/2014 17:59

OP, if you weren't a coward, you'd not have name changed to post this thread for a start.

LeftyLoony · 23/06/2014 18:00

Uptheairymountain Not to mention thrift stores in rich areas can have some very nice outfits. I've gotten nice shirts and pants from there. I had a really nice hand bag that was almost free. So what a person has is not an accurate reflection of their income.

mwahmumx · 23/06/2014 18:01

Gulitladen Only for £6000? which isn't even a lot of money, I would have thought if someone was going to report someone for fraud it would be fraud of a life changing amount of money.

longjane · 23/06/2014 18:01

Checked the form
and if she get called in it will be read out to her . And she will be able to work out from what you have filled in who you are.

LeftyLoony · 23/06/2014 18:01

Well strictly speaking they can obtain an IP address from those web forms...

NeilDiamondRocks · 23/06/2014 18:01

I have to agree with Patjen. OP, when she asked for your help, WHY didn't you say something then? What you did seems very mean spirited and I believe your intent was to do harm. But you keep on convincing yourself of your altruism. Very poor.

Gulitladen · 23/06/2014 18:01

No, there isnt a ' tax credits' drop down box, but there is an ' other- state below' which is what I did.

Darkesteyes · 23/06/2014 18:01

How do you know that Guilt He could be financially abusive for all you know.

avoiretre · 23/06/2014 18:02

The benefit system often steals from genuine people in need. I would never report anyone on that basis.

SirChenjin · 23/06/2014 18:02

Any reporting is done confidentially as well you know.....enough, alright?

LeftyLoony · 23/06/2014 18:02

It's funny how you think some posters on here are goady trolls when the whoLe thread premise reads that way...

DottyDooRidesAgain · 23/06/2014 18:03

Youthecat

You don't believe it's genuine then report it because otherwise you look like a troll hunter/goady twat.
Posters name change for many reasons and so what if the OP does not want to be associated with this, that is the point of being anonymous.

VitoCorleone · 23/06/2014 18:03

Oh come on OP, she asked for your help with a form, next thing she knows she'll be hauled into the jobcentre and interviewed where they will tell her what the report said, of course she's going to know it was you Hmm

And dotty Hmm you can get a grip aswell

D0oinMeCleanin · 23/06/2014 18:03

How do you know what her partner earns? Or how much of this he contributes?

For someone who's not a friend you know more about her financial situation than I know about my own.

Gulitladen · 23/06/2014 18:03

6k a year is a lot of money. It is to most people and its a bit insulting to say that it isnt.

The form is designed to be anonymous. You dont have to say who you are, so why on earth would HMRC want to track my IP address?

They wouldnt, because I havent done anything wrong.
