Pop to the splasheries my lambs and after you've brushed your hair till it shines we'll have a quick practice of 'I sing of Margaret so fair'.

Once we've finished casting the movie, that is....

OP posts:
JoeyMaynardsghost · 24/06/2014 17:24

That Joan Baker's influence! Forever Amber, indeed. Bill was asking if she could borrow that when you've finished

Tennis skirt/frilly knickers and tennis shorts! Haven't you got a well cut frock you could wear? Wink Matey will have a fit!

Summerbreezing · 24/06/2014 17:26

Of course you can Tinuviel. I also have a packet of Benson and Hedges hidden in my knicker drawer so we can have a topping time.

Summerbreezing · 24/06/2014 17:28

joey Tell Bill she's out of luck Sad Matron found it and my ciggies. She also found that bottle of gin that Joan Baker had stashed behind the drainpipe.

Where is Matey by the way? I haven't seen her for hours!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/06/2014 17:34

I've got a tennis frock but it shows my gym knickers. Still, if that's Matey-approved then that's ok!

Btw, just come across this little gem from Mother of the Year: Jack and I tried to give them all the best training but (Margot) just didn't seem able to respond.

Clearly, it's all Margot's fault! She's about 13 at this point.

JoeyMaynardsghost · 24/06/2014 17:43

Haven't seen Matey for hours either! Most unlike her.

Margot always does get the blame, doesn't she? But in the books I've re-read so far she's not had a lot to say for herself, being too young, and is currently in Canada.

I was more concerned about the birdwatcher (Kester?) with Cherry and putting her on his lap while he talks to Annis - she's (Cherry) is about 12?
V. Dodgy.

SolidGoldBrass · 24/06/2014 17:44

Is the unabridged Highland Twins in the transcripts? SQUEEEEEE! Now can someone tell ME how to get at it?

Tinuviel · 24/06/2014 17:47

Matey didn't find my bottle of brandy so I'll just bring it along to the bike sheds together with Fanny Hill (they never mention bike sheds at the CS but in Armishire they definitely have bikes). Maybe they are like toilets - you just never mention them because of unmentionable things happening.Shock

Whatever we read it will be better than watching people hit a ball over a net.

DeWee · 24/06/2014 18:15

I want to join the tennis group, as I've just started playing after a gap of 20 years. I will insist on wearing shorts though, I am not having the risk of anyone getting the shock of my knickers. Although strangely I still tend to pop the ball up them when playing. Must work this one out.

However I did get confused the other day with swimming and managed a dive in the middle of the courts. I certainly made an impression on that court. About 1m long and bloody impression unfortunately.
Now I can however make you Grin by telling you the first person over to check I was alright was a tall dark and handsome doctor.
And I lost the point.

MaryBennett · 24/06/2014 18:21

Gosh, am I late for the picnic? SO sorry, train delays and I'm filthy thanks to this European coal. (Wipes face charmingly on well-darned hanky)

I've brought one of the new girls with me, poor lamb was standing lost by the splasheries. Typical of those careless, harum-scarum Middles.

And (triumphantly) here's Karen's best lemonade!

JoeyMaynardsghost · 24/06/2014 18:39

Another new girl? Best run her along to Matey. She'll sort her out all right.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 24/06/2014 20:55

Cheddar, Peggy Burnett and her Miss Armitage don't count until they're running hand-in-hand through corridors giggling together. (Or bickering about golf, for that matter - I forget which one I was reading earlier read quite a few today Blush which mentions Nell and Con bickering about golf and I now cannot believe that EBD can have been writing about anything other than a bona fide lesbian relationship.)

And I read the one where everyone suggests a name for Sybil (may actually be the same book as the golf) and someone suggests Ottilie. It is just like MN! I also have the same thought about Primula being a cheese spread, every time I read it.

Finally, this barbecue business - perhaps that's the real reason everyone is carefully noting each other's relative weight gain in Reunion?

Tinuviel · 24/06/2014 21:26

Dewee, sounds as if you would be much better off joining us for drinks and literature!! That sounds very painful but at least you made an impression on a doctor.

ToniWol · 24/06/2014 22:07

Of course the worst thing EBD does to Primula is to marry her to Nick Garden!

HesterShaw · 24/06/2014 22:11

Sorry sorry sorry for butting in and being such a lame Chaletian after not having been here since the first thread, but may I say how much I LOVE the cast list on page one? I mean, what else would a triple Oscar winner want to do more than play Plato in the Chalet School moview? :o :o

Genius. Keep it up my lambs. Alas I am too busy to join in, but I lurk occasionally.

Happydaysatlast · 24/06/2014 22:44

The most ridiculous incident must be the motorboat one though. So how on earth did Kathy manage to roll across from her boat onto a full throttle motor boat? I mean how? She would be like James Bond.

And the nanny in charge of the 2 boys would have been sacked surely. I was a cm and would consider falling asleep so mindees could slope off and start a motorboat a pretty bad dereliction of duty.

And then Erica, Althea and the naughty one then want motorboat races, as you do, but of course the teachers can't just say ' er no fuck off'. They of course have to consult Joey. Why just why. They are bloody teachers.

Her amazing plan is to get them to look at the costs? As if the teachers could to have thought of that too but as Len says to Hilda 'it takes Mamma to think of a plan like that' what bloody plan.

JoeyMaynardsghost · 25/06/2014 08:00

My lambs, the rising bell didn't go! We're all late! Who's on first bath?

Happydaysatlast · 25/06/2014 08:15

I pushed in the list and I splashed the floor. I also ran the hot tap and sneaked in a bath bomb.

It's because I have just arrived from
a council school as my parents just won the pools. Why all this washing and praying anyway?.

fairnotfair · 25/06/2014 08:19

Are you "cheaply pretty", Happydays?

SockQueen · 25/06/2014 08:23

The next person in the bath will probably think that the devil has been in there, thanks to your bath bomb!

ToniWol · 25/06/2014 08:28

Speaking of bathing. Away with friends for the weekend (I met them all first on a CS discussion board) and there's talk of going swimming in a lake. Am taking my costume but not sure if it'll be too cold.

One of the ladies girls has her birthday whilst we're there. There's been a suggestion we see her pyjamas up Grin

JoeyMaynardsghost · 25/06/2014 09:06

Happydays my lamb I suspect your name begins with a J.

Hot water too? My dear girl. You must learn the CS way.

Happydaysatlast · 25/06/2014 09:22

I also have a rough perm Fair

Oh shit!!! The maids are screaming that the devil has been seen in the bathroom you were right sock but it's ok Bill is telling her she never needs to fear the devil as long as she's good.

I need MaryLou to straighten me out

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 25/06/2014 09:50

Nonsense; the bathroom is the last place in which the devil is likely to appear, and he isn't likely to appear in person, in any case.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 25/06/2014 09:52

Also, how on earth did you get that bath bomb past Matey's watchful eye? Is she still engrossed in Forever Amber?

Summerbreezing · 25/06/2014 09:58

Apparently she has a frightful headache this morning and won't be joining us for Fruhstuck.

Tinuviel I hope you hid Fanny Hill and the brandy somewhere ingenious. We can have another literary cocktail party this afternoon while the others are volunteering in the garden.
