I joined in 2008, I think, at the tail end of the Glory Years. I remember a terrific fuss and collective waahing when Caitlin Moran printed a guide to MN which failed to honour Every Single Oldie. The gnashing of teeth was an impressive harbinger for the Christmas That Never Was.

Glory Years are a moveable feast I think. I joined in 2002 and some of the first threads I read were about leaving because MN had changed too much.

Thinking back, I remember wondering if I should bother registering because the site wouldn't be around long if that was the way the members thought.

I think it's a lot less bitchy than it used to be now, maybe because the site is so much bigger, harsher responses now though. Cod no longer reigns as queen. I prefer it now to be honest.

Went away for the holidays, came back and it was like a nuclear wasteland.
