I am exhausted, I cannot sleep for the racket. This is not ok, is it?!

No it's not.

Only if it's an emergency repair such as to a gas main that would otherwise pose a danger to life

Canthisonebeused · 18/06/2014 23:24

Depends what they are doing and why. It could be emergency work

itsmeitscathy · 18/06/2014 23:24

It appears to be some sort of road cleaning or similar but it's really noisy!

Depends what it is, if it has been deemed an emergency (which it probably has because they get paid more for working this time and nobody likes paying more) then they will be out there as long as it takes. Pain in the ass? yes but illegal? no.

Road cleaning?

Can you not go out and ask how long they'll be? Nothing wrong with finding out.

itsmeitscathy · 18/06/2014 23:38

They've gone, i suspect it's to do with summer events which are coming up rather than overtime pay. I was too lazy to go to ask! Smile
