Yes, I know these things only run thanks to volunteers. I know and appreciate it. Dh is one of them. I volunteer in schools, I help out at Cubs, I do other volunteering. When Scouts or Brownies or Guides want me, I help out there, too.

It's just the Beavers. I cannot bear the thought of that hour among a horde of screaming, over-hyped, 6-7-8yo boys. How do the Leaders do it? They must be a different species of human being to me. Superhuman beings.

YANBU Guide leader here. I would rather attempt to eat my own feet than help out with the rainbows.

Cubs get too much for me when we're stuck in the hut, thank goodness for the Summer term Grin

DS1 is a Beaver Leader, he loves it, I have no idea how he copes.

It's only an hour, mentally break it down into ten minute chunks and get through each one.

CumberCookie · 18/06/2014 17:26

I get like this with Brownies sometimes (I'm a leader). Sometimes I wonder why I do it to myself....

SixImpossible · 18/06/2014 17:51

Oh bliss! Oh joy! They don't need me after all!
