AIBU to complain to the Council that the new bin men don't beep? (lighthearted)

Wednesday bin day used to be the high light of DS2's week (well not really, but he liked it a lot Grin ) as the nice bin men would wave and beep the nice loud horn of the truck for him when they saw him waving from the window.

The new bin men DON'T BEEP!! And only one of them even WAVES. Unreasonable bastards. Today he looked at me sadly and said "beep" in a forlorn voice.

Our bin men beep, wave and sometimes flash their lights, but this is a treat and is probably contravening their training! I occasionally leave them a case of beer as a thank you for their indulgence - maybe that would work...?

Oh bless him. You could hire a bin truck and take him for a ride to make up for it, or is that going too far? Grin

I think I'm going to have to make a sign to hold up saying "Beep the horn, PLEASE!" you miserable bastards

YANBU I think a verbal warning from council to new binmen should do the trick.
If not you must take it further Grin
we always have dc to wave to distract from overfull bin

May write outraged letter of complaint. Surely beeping is in their job description somewhere?

I just thought - do they come early? Maybe some miserable fuckers people have complained about the beeping?

Caff2 · 18/06/2014 18:22

They don't come until eleven and it's a tiny rural country lane. They're just non beeping miserable fuckers. I want the other ones back! Where have they gone?

Next week go out and grab one, and tell him that being beeped at and waved at is the highlight of your sons week... Lay it on nice and thick and ask them nicely if they could wave at him when they see him and wear something skimpy or low cut
That might work!
If not, try beer...

DS too loves when the binmen come, they let him 'help' (bless them!) by him pointing to the next one to empty. I think if they beeped he'd probably have a heart attack. There is one miserable sod who won't even crack a smile though. Makes me so mad - I mean come on here's this kid who thinks you have the most awesome job in the world and you can't even smile. Grr.

I say hang the miserable bastards. Wink

My dn was into every moving vehicle you can get when he was younger. It was so sad seeing him waving and not getting back even a smile.
