our street has recently been made 20 and speedbumps have been installed.
it is impossible to drive any more than that safely anyway.
it's one of those streets that are effectively single file due to parked cars on either side.

the speed some drivers go through is staggering. total disregard for noise, safety and rules.

aibu to put some nails out? will not do it but am pantasising

it wouldn't be a problem if the cars were going 20.
some come past at 40 or 50 I recon.
not safe and noisy.

If they're the speed humps that cars can straddle easily, I really don't get the point of them. People can just drive at normal speeds.

Get a high-vis jacket and a hairdryer or something similar, stand outside looking important and pointing the device at speeding cars.

speedbumps wreck cars however slowly you drive over them. Those who speed are usually too drunk or stupid to care, or have an urban tank so don't notice, or don't pay for their own car so also don't care.

chicanes are a better bet.

Those cut out police man remind me of when I was driving through a village by my mom and dads. It's a 40 mph speed limit in the middle of 60mph countrt lanes.

I saw a police man with a speed gun which made me jump and just double check my speed. When I told my mom she pissed herself laughing.

It was a scarecrow that had been built for the annual scarecrow competition.

It was quite a effective deterrent for a few weeks by all accounts
