Sorry posting in Aibu as the company told me I was the only Kobe who has complained. Third worked problem. I recently purchased the compressed dove deodorant instead of the normal size. According to the packaging it's meant to last as long. No it didn't. With same use (dh and me) it ran out before the week was over. I phoned up unilever to give feedback to be informed I was the only person who had complained and I must have using it differently. Hmm in fact they so pleased all larger one will be removed from the shelf shortly. When I said that's not a problem the man said all other companies are doing the same as the customers prefer the small cans and I was the only one to have complained. Aibu to wonder if I am the only one who noticed this?

No, the compressed ones are crap and do not last the same amount of time. I've been buying the larger cans. If they discontinue them I will switch to another brand as i think it's a con.

Singlesuzie · 14/06/2014 10:08

I dont see how the compressed ones could last as long. If the stuff is compressed then it will be drawn up through the squirter in it's compressed form so holding the squirter down for 1 second on a compressed can will give out more volume than holding down for 1 second on a normal can. Naughty Unilever!

noneofyours · 14/06/2014 10:10

I still have some larger one left thankfully, I'm going to have to switch to another brand if they only bring out the small ones. Most people don't think about giving feedback, they just switch to something of better value. When Unileaver see sales drop, that will be their indication-which seems like an ineffectual system since they'll then have to claw back any customers that left.

afterthought · 14/06/2014 10:12

I've not noticed as I'm not sure how long one normally lasts (I buy whatever is on offer so all different sizes) but my mum has said the same.

TwinkleTwinkleStarlight · 14/06/2014 10:26

I actually prefer the smaller ones Smile so YABU

caroldecker · 14/06/2014 10:34

single is right, you are applying more if you press for the same amount of time - try spraying less.

londonrach · 14/06/2014 10:41

Twinkle knew there were some people who preferred it. Yes for holidays but this can lasted less than one week. You might be right about pressure but it's how I've always done it. Just seems wrong that you pay the same for less but then cream eggs have got smaller too. If anyone wants to add their voice to mine. 0800 0851548 the man us going to send me another can as they have a money back the compressed cans if unhappy. (Been three days now...)

YABU to use dove deodorant because IME it is rubbish and doesn't work. The Mitchum spray is non-compressed and works, I'd try that one OP.

ConfusedDotty · 14/06/2014 11:02

The compressed ones are rubbish, they last 5mins. Sainsburys no longer stock the proper large tins anymore. It's a complete rip off!!!

bloominbumpy · 14/06/2014 11:26

Does no one else find its stings your pits? I purchased a sure compressed one when they first came out and got a serious case of the ouchies!

have actively searched for the big cans since... sorry environment Sad

VenusStarr · 14/06/2014 12:41

I agree, the compressed ones are crap!! I might have to stock up on the larger cans when there's an offer on.

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 14/06/2014 12:54

I hate spray deo. Bleugh.

londonrach · 14/06/2014 17:36

Think I'm going to stock up on normal sized. Seems I'm not the only one but the only one to complain.

Non aluminium deodorants are much better anyway. Grin
