'Learned me' is pure Essex. I should know. Smile

I do say things like 'step on the gas' or 'honey, we're low on gas' because we did once live in the Land of the Free

Then I hypocritically go nuts at the kids when they say 'movie' or 'glaycier' ('Speak English! Gla-cier!')

I go to the pictures.
I'm done doesn't bother me.
I would openly cringe at anyone saying hubster in conversation and probably flinch at hubby.
Can I get - no you can't, it's my job to get you things, we're not self-service

I hate learned me (as in my teachers learned me). Not sure if that's American. But it bugs me

It's a 'thick Brit' thing. No American would say 'learned me'...

I don't say 'you guys' but I do occasionally say 'all y'all'.

using/not using 'and': go see, for example, when there should be an 'and' in there, or alternatively macaroni and cheese when it should just be macaroni cheese (mac and cheese is even worse). Trash/garbage also bad. Freight train instead of goods train (we get a lot of these going past our local park).

Movie I don't find so grating, though I wouldn't use it myself. Never really though about 'can I get'.

Chuffed that I managed to teach DD to say 'may' instead of 'can', though she misuses it quite a lot which is just as annoying!

'I'm done' grr.
Can I get a coffee off you?? Oh sweet mother of mercy. Now that's truly annoying.

I would love to hear an American say 'Cor blimey guvnor'.

I might start using 'Dean Winchester' instead of 'Gordon Bennett'.

'Shocked, she pulled her taffeta gown from under the feet of the crass colonial who had just stepped boldly into the room. 'Dean Winchester!' she exclaimed crossly.'

Lmao at 'can I get?!'

I have never noticed anyone say that but now you've pointed it out I will probably hear it all the time

DD (14) has started to say 'math' - I like to think she does it just to see my head spinning on my shoulders, but sadly I think it's for real.

Slightly annoys me but what really makes me AngryAngryAngryAngry is when british people get their babies/toddlers to 'high five them' every time I see someone do it I want to slap the parent. And mostly they are seemingly normal sensible adults who I've never seen high five another adult grrrr
