To think everything becomes a lot noisier when you have a newborn (I know that I am)

DD is 3 days old and this is our second night home from hospital. I hadn't realised until last night just how noisy everything is in an evening!

My DC and DH seem to have been replaced by elephants that bang about and charge up and downstairs and as for all the racket outside, you'd think the neighbours were purposley trying (and succeeding) to wake her.

Or, maybe I'm tired and need to get a grip.

I would worry, I sure she found noisier "inside". Best to get them used to comings and goings/noise early on, otherwise you will be forever tiptoeing around.
But most importantly Congratulations! Thanks

I watched the secret lives of babies a few days ago, and there was a part on there about it being very noisy in the womb. It's on par with a sports car engine and that's why most babies sleep better in cars.

However 4 day post birth, sleep is a luxury and no way would I want those precious few hours disturbed.

Sorry 3 days.

Well 3 days post-birth you're allowed to be as unreasonable as you like but you're right. Jeepers I remember trying to get DD to sleep in her swinging chair (poor sleeper when tiny!) and GMIL was cackling so loudly I wanted to mute her! Enjoy your newborn snuggles :)

Thanks. I know IABU. It's just my section stitches are quite sore and everytime I hear a noise outside I just want to scream shut up out the window (or at DH or DC, or the puppy or the cat, everyone really).

She hardly slept at all last night but she's doing much better tonight. Strange the things you manage to forget about between DCs
