To think dh overreacted to me putting the keys in the wrong place?

We always keep our garage keys in a drawer in the lounge. Today, by mistake I left them on top of the set of drawers and a newspaper was placed on top go them by one of the dcs.

When I was out, dh needed them. He texted but I had no signal. Said he spent 20 minutes looking for them and is cross. I apologised but dh kept going on about it.

Really, is this normal?

He's being ridiculous to keep going on about it, I understand him being irritated but it's only 20mins, was he in a big rush to get somewhere?

AgathaF · 11/06/2014 22:21

Is it normal for him? If it is, then I would say that he has a problem. If it's a one-off, then not.

Yabu if there were no other keys. There's something frightening about being locked in that makes you panic.

SavoyCabbage · 11/06/2014 22:24

Oh, garage keys. Yanbu then.

To be fair i always quietly seethe when DP leaves the car keys in the kitchen or living room because we have a hook by the front door for them and i always put them there.

I don't think ive ever ranted and raved about it out loud though.

pictish · 11/06/2014 22:27

Not to keep on about it, no.

Gracegrace · 11/06/2014 22:45

Okay thanks, you have all been very helpful

It drives me mad when dp puts the keys in the wrong place especially if I have an appointment because spending 20-30 mins looking for keys can be the difference between being on time or not.
Saying that, I don't think I've spent a lot of time ranting about it, and I definitely wouldn't rant if he apologised.
