I hesitated between an AIBU and a "Flouncers'corner" I decided to go to AIBU because it is not personal , not something that was directed at me in particular but sadly something I see more and more on threads.

I could have chosen "flouncers corner" because I am not going to post again (I shall carry on lurking)Smile

I am deeply bored of threads about things people say on MN that piss you off.

I must hide the next one instead of getting sucked in

CloverHeart · 13/06/2014 20:14

I'll be honest, when I see the inflammatory posts it is usually from the same culprits every time - or someone who has NC'ed for the sake of starting a fight.

Most of the time they are long standing, well known members to.

CloverHeart · 13/06/2014 20:16

too*, damnit!

Sparklingbrook · 13/06/2014 20:19

I thought it was best that rather reading and hiding individually to just hide the whole thing.
Cat poo & BF v FF again-the final straw.

I think I may have brought trouble to your door folks. My apologies
I seem to have a stalker.
Alas I fear that the infection has gone too far here
This is doing the rounds on FB and probably illustrates my point pretty well

The girl you just called fat? She is overdosing on diet pills.
The girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her.
The boy you just tripped? He is abused enough at home.
See that man with the ugly scars? He fought for our country.
That guy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying.

These people do not know what it happening to the person they are chasing and rounding up on.

I'm off to start a thread to find out which air freshener is best - a detect a slight fishy smell.

cakemakerg · 14/06/2014 06:53

Damn my laptop!!
I was looking at one thread and seem to have posted on another!
Oh well - it gives them more ammunition and a little more entertainment.

ha ha
I hadnt posted to the wrong thread. All you early birds had moved it on during the time it took to put it together. Sorry for the duplication.
Well I'm legging it out of here before the playground bullies have chance to catch me.

Delphiniumsblue · 14/06/2014 07:20

There are certain subjects that I keep off because I dare not put my head above the parapet and say that actually I think differently.
Sometimes you are taken unawares and for this reason I don't like to start threads, unless they are very mundane, they can head off in the most strange directions- especially in AIBU.
I was irritated yesterday when we were asked our instinctive first reaction and people then said they were appalling! I was then called 'antagonistic' for pointing out that we had not been asked for 'considered' opinions but specifically the instinctive one. I can appreciate that people don't want to hear them BUT they had been asked for!
A lot comes from people not reading the whole thread.

Littlemoocow · 14/06/2014 07:22

Cake makerg, that's a really good point. You never know what someone is going through, so we should be kind

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 14/06/2014 07:51

The thread in Chat from a woman whose DH has been done for drink driving is an absolute textbook example of this. There's even the MN bingo shutdown phrase of 'I don't see anyone .... here'. I typed out a response but didn't post. If people are cuntish enough to clearly enjoy having a go at someone in that way, there's no hope of reasoning with them.

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/06/2014 09:09

I know. So many conclusions being jumped to without any further information. Priceless.

gorionine · 14/06/2014 13:14

Sorry for long delay to come back, life catching up with me again. Thank you to everyone that posted on this tread, you really showed me what MN should be about.

Cakemakerg I am currently trying to explain 'empathy' to a couple of pre-teens and your post really resonated with me. And you know what, whoever is stalking you, let them; they might learn a thing or two from you?Smile
