Now Im not on benefits, neither are we well off. we have to work and save hard for our luxuries.

However we went to London at the weekend, and after spending all weekend moving out of the way of families with prams taking up the whole pavement, i realised that not one of them ever said thank you.

No common courtesty at all.

DH and i were chatting about it and he said, thats people with money for you, they EXPECT you to get out of thier way.

this made me incredibly sad.

We went on an amazing truly luxurious holiday once. There were lots of very well off people there. Some were really nice, some talked to the staff like absolute dirt and with total arrogance.

thebodylovesspring · 11/06/2014 08:01

When I am in London I am far too busy looking at the sights than noticing people's prams.

It's a big jostling city. You can't keep apologising and smiling at everyone.

Is your dh mick Dundee on from Walkabout Creek?

Bernard Can u post a side on pic of the duck?i just cant see that its a duck

Glasgow's a big busy city, and we're all friendly - so no excuses you Londoners!

As an aside, Hauck prams are shite. I had one for my youngest and hated it. Tried listing it on ebay - twice - starting at 99p, with free local delivery. Not a sniff. So even benefits claimants won't touch a Hauck. Fact.

lifesavingnoodles · 11/06/2014 17:39

ok so you all have the wrong end of my stick...and if i meant what you think i meant then i deserve the roasting.

i noticed the prams becuase i'm looking to buy a new one from my job THAT IS ALL, all of the prams were three figures at least, when they were new, and they looked pretty new to me.

I mind kids for a living... im usually the one pushing the pram and thanking anyone who is kind enough to make room for us. i do not scowl at those who dont. but i do thank those who do. i wouldnt have noticed if it were one or two people not saying thank you.....but there were loads, and not one person said thank you, not one person. Maybe that is the Big CITY thing for you, and if it is then im glad i dont live there.

they might have been preoccupied with the kids, but these were well behaved children, from what i observed, not running in the road or larking about, just walking on the path.

I am sick of benefits bashing on MN, becuase it seems that every thread i read there is an element of it on there ( maybe i just pick up the goady threads)

I was just pointing out that some people are knobs and it doesnt matter where they are from or how much money they have....I realise i could have worded it better, and that it sounds differently when you say it than you read it
Plus i thought id posted this in chat not aibu

sorry if i was goady... i didnt mean to be
sorry if i was a knob.... i didnt mean to be

OK.

some people are knobs and it doesnt matter where they are from or how much money they have

Now this, I couldn't agree with you more.

Fideliney · 11/06/2014 18:23

Me too.

(could have saved time by just saying that in the first place OP Smile)

greeneggsandjam · 11/06/2014 19:23

I am in a fairly well off part of London. Sometimes it can take me twice as long to get home as I keep seeing friendly people I know and stop to have a chat with them, sometimes I have people asking me for directions and so on, I have never ignored them or tried not to help. I find it to be a very friendly place, much more so than some little villages/towns. It is rare that I go out and don't say hello to someone. The other week I took some French tourists who were lost, onto a bus and then walked them to the tube station they were trying to find. I don't have a pram though so maybe that's why.

lifesavingnoodles · 11/06/2014 20:28

green have you read anything other than the orignal post? i have clarified my position and apologised

OP posts:
greeneggsandjam · 11/06/2014 20:34

Yes, I read a few of the posts, what does it matter? I'm just giving my opinion based on my day to day life. No need for an apology, just airing my views that's all.
