Now Im not on benefits, neither are we well off. we have to work and save hard for our luxuries.

However we went to London at the weekend, and after spending all weekend moving out of the way of families with prams taking up the whole pavement, i realised that not one of them ever said thank you.

No common courtesty at all.

DH and i were chatting about it and he said, thats people with money for you, they EXPECT you to get out of thier way.

this made me incredibly sad.

FWIW, I've always found that Londoners love giving directions..they seem to positively relish it.

We like giving incorrect directions, actually, just for shits and giggles, because we're all evil bastards in That London.

Did you check their diamond studded birth certificates to ensure they were actual Londoners, op?

I mean they could've been tourists, or day trippers or FORRINS!! Shock

I had a bugaboo, got it for a great discount as one of the benefits of my temp job. I bought it because i thought it would keep it's value when I resold it.

I survived on SMP for 3 months on the bones of my arse before returning to work. No champagne in my breast milk.....

angryangryyoungwoman · 10/06/2014 18:26

What is your point? That people who don't say thank you are rude? Or that having a pram is entitled? I'm still not sure what on earth you are saying

Smilesandpiles · 10/06/2014 18:42

So you started this thread because someone has a better pram than you and didn't say thank you?

gamerchick · 10/06/2014 19:17

Well I wouldn't call them better prams.. They look like shopping trolleys Grin they just cost silly money.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 10/06/2014 19:23

You went to London and expected people to be polite? Hahaha Grin

Don't try Birmingham (or any other major city) either, you may be disappointed.

It's got nowt to do with money.

SelectAUserName · 10/06/2014 19:29

Is it National Goady Thread Week or something? Did I miss a memo?

Fideliney · 10/06/2014 19:34

You aren't having a go at people at benefits but you gave the thread the title to think its not just those on benefits who have an entitled attitude

Erm ok Hmm

People in London who have prams must be wealthy and to prove it you were making notes of the pram brands.

Seriously weird OP.

Aye they are that.

PrincessBabyCat · 10/06/2014 20:56

Three of the buggies were Hauk and one was a bugaboo

So.. is this like the female version of guys knowing every brand and type of car? Grin

You memorized the prices and brands of buggies.

FreeButtonBee · 10/06/2014 21:05

What people always forget about London when they visit for a day is that they go to the bits of London that all the other day tripper and visitors frequent. So the people being rude to you are more than likely other non-Londoners. No sane local goes to Oxford st at the weekend for eg!

TwinkleTwinkleStarlight · 10/06/2014 21:12

Is it National Goady Thread Week or something? Did I miss a memo?

Brilliant

RabbitSaysWoof · 10/06/2014 21:24

I always thought Hauk was cheaper that most other brands.

FreeSpirit89 · 10/06/2014 21:32

Some people are nice. Some are people are not.

YABU for thinking it's to do with people on benefits!

Hold on a second!
London you said?

Was the mum slim with nice long hair, the dad blonde, blue eyes and the baby in the pram was a blonde cute boy?

Actually, yes OP you are right and they ARE rich.

kali110 · 11/06/2014 01:20

Bernard, wtf was that picture??????

Singlesuzie · 11/06/2014 01:46
Confused

Hauck prams are cheap as chips!

BernardlookImaprostituterobotf · 11/06/2014 01:59

Kali - it is my duck. I prefer it to the biscuit. The duck of unreasonableness is a useful chap - it will suddenly dawn on you that he has a second face on his bill or vice versa he has a big face, the pattern makes his bill look like a cartoon dog. The duck with two faces is the new technique for 'nothing to see here' thread derailment or general biscuity feelings depending on the context.
Well for me it is. So if you spot him it's probably me.

Pumpkinpositive · 11/06/2014 04:31

I instantly thought that poor duck was a Siamese twin. Sad

ComposHat · 11/06/2014 07:25

In my head it all happened luke this:

The op was up from the country stood on the old Kent road in a smock with a knapsack on a stick and a pig under one arm. Minding her own business and chewing on a bit of straw and generally being dazzled by the electric lights and cars, she didn't see the five cockney mothers dressed as pearly queens and pushing their diamond encrusted solid gold silvercross prams.

After being told 'you're on our manor nah you facking mug' they ran her over whilst singing a chas and dave ditty.

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 11/06/2014 07:27

Not all Londoners are rude. I always receive polite service, please and thank you and so oin, and also am very polkite and friendly. I would assume mums with prams are just a bit absorbed with their kids.

Blackjackcrossed · 11/06/2014 07:37

Think this is just lazy stereotyping. Among the 8 million you get rude buggers - quite a lot of them will be out of towners and tourists like yourself, bringing a buggy into Central London is not something many Londoners wish to do at the weekends - maybe it's you guys who are rude?
