to ask when breakfast things are cleaned up in your house

In the Toad household, we all have porridge for breakfast. That leaves a porridge pot, four bowls, cutlery, some porridge on the table and probably a few other things left out like the sugar. There is also crumbs etc from lunch-making. I generally clean this up when I get in from work and start making dinner.

Is this feral?

We all have porridge too, but have recently started microwaving instead of using pans and it's great, as one of my dcs has to have gluten free oats, which used to mean two pans - now we just have a bowl each and no pans at all.

We don't have a dishwasher (other than me) so I have a bowl of hot soapy water in the sink as we eat breakfast and the dcs drop in their bowl and cup/glass as they finish eating. (I am working up to them all washing their own dishes and dh already does his.) I then wait till they've all finished and wash them all up before the school run. If we're running late, they stay in the bowl of soapy water until I get back and I wash them then.

I am hardly a paragon of housewifely virtue and will admit to some days where I leave them until later in the day (SAHM) if I don't feel well or can't be arsed though.

Dishes in dishwasher (everyone does their own), everything tidied away (kids put away anything they have used), table completely clear and wiped every morning straight after breakfast.

I couldn't stand coming home after work to be faced with all the mess.

Each to their own though. As long as you don't live with me Smile
