to ask when breakfast things are cleaned up in your house

In the Toad household, we all have porridge for breakfast. That leaves a porridge pot, four bowls, cutlery, some porridge on the table and probably a few other things left out like the sugar. There is also crumbs etc from lunch-making. I generally clean this up when I get in from work and start making dinner.

Is this feral?

At the moment I'm working from home so it usually gets done pretty quickly, but when I worked out of the house I did the same.

We empty the dishwasher just before bed and then in the morning when we are busy being disorganised/late we can throw the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher and run. I would hate to come home from a day at work to a sinkful of dishes.

Cleaned up before we leave - we both work FT. We do have a dishwasher though so it's literally a case of putting the dirty dishes in there and wiping down the table & worktops - takes seconds. I hate coming home to a grotty kitchen and having to clean up before I can do anything else.

I clean up straight after and the ds's clean up when they're done.

I hate coming home to a grubby kitchen, it makes me murderous.

DH empties the dishwasher before he lives for work at 6:20am. If he has had porridge he washes his bowl and mug and leaves it draining, otherwise it goes straight in the dishwasher.

DS2's breakfast things and my cup is put in the dishwasher before the school run. I have my breakfast when I get back and it's cleared away straight after, the same when DS1 gets up and has his.

Even before we had a dishwasher and I worked it was all washed up and cleared away before we all left the house.

everything gets left until I return from the school run (leave at 7.30 back at 9)
then into the sink or the dishwasher depending on how I am feeling.

Table cleared straight afterwards and usually all washed straight away too. Sometimes I'm in a rush so don't wash it up though.

Usually all gets done after dinner in the evening when we have the time. I'm up at 5.30am on a lot of work days (and need to be out the door by 6.15am) so no time to deal with breakfast things in the morning.

Straight in dw and put on so it is all clean when we get home.

Everything goes in the dishwasher as soon as done with bit. Dishwasher goes on once a day in the evening and unloaded in the morning.

I hate coming home to dirty plates etc about the place. I also make a pot of coffee every morning and hate hate hate having to empty the grinds when I get home. Always done before I leave.

Also mean I can out the coffee in the cafetierre last thing at night and fill the kettle in order that I just flick the switch in the morning.

Things get put away ASAP, but the dishes are done after the evening meal as then all dishes go into the dishwasher.

Everything is washed or loaded into the dishwasher as it is used. Cannot stand dirty pots being left out especially all day. I hate crumby work surfaces even more

Done straight after breakfast - we run the dishwasher overnight (cheap elec), empty it while the kettle boils, and I/the DC clear off before we brush our teeth to leave in the mornings.

Everyone is out of the house all day and this is one thing I do - the rest of the house is pretty untidy all the time.

Breakfast dishes are rinsed then put in the dishwasher straight after breakfast. I run my business from home now but it was the same when I left the house at 7am. I couldn't leave dirty dishes or food bits lying around to fester. I do lunches at night, I cant be arsed faffing with lunches in the morning.

On days we both work it tends to be quick toast and the plates and coffee cups are left next to the dishwasher until we get home at the end of the day. On the 2 days I'm at home with DS then I clear up the breakfast things after breakfast and sort out the dishwasher etc then.

I clear up after breakfast - dishwasher is emptied reloaded, all surfaces wiped down, washing hung out/put into tumbler BEFORE I go to work.
I come in to a nice tidy clean house then. I think to leave it is slovenly. I

When we run out of bowls

Everything gets dealt with after each meal. I hate seeing dirty dishes lying around and I hate coming back to them. Easier to clean as we go and then we never have to deal with them piled up.

Not that it's me who has to anyway. My husband is on permanent dishwasher duty, but in theory you understand.

I can't bear coming in from work to find breakfast detritus looking at me. It all goes in the dishwasher before I leave the house in the morning, and dishwasher plus washing machine is switched on more or less as I walk out the door.

Minging. Sorry . I unload the dishwasher at night so it's empty in the morning and can chuck everything in before kids are even finished eating. I don't work but I run every morning after kids are off to school...I can't bear to leave dishes out or beds unmade Control Issues.

Can't cope with evening chaos so I dishwasher before we leave and quick table wipe down. On good day load in washing machine too.
Get up 15 mins earlier to do this but now DCs older and can dressed without - repeated nagging oops - help have reclaimed 5 mins plus

They have been known to sit out till the next day .... I think I need some control issues!
