I went into town yesterday and my first visit was Hobbycraft where I bought a couple of items. Soon after I stopped for a coffee and switched my phone on to check for messages. A large note was flagged up asking if I worked for or shopped at Hobbycraft. WTAF, how did they know I'd just been there? Phone was switched off!

Am I being unreasonable to feel uncomfortable about this or do I have to accept that technology means that we are tracked and targeted wherever we go (if we have a mobile phone).

I get texts from O2 about a certain shop whenever I go anywhere near it, I'm usually driving past to get to the supermarket!!
I do find it a bit intrusive
