X applied for ds passport

My x asked to take ds on holiday to France this July. I agreed on the condition that he paid for ds passport renewal as I'm not going to be taking him abroad with the pittance he gives me in maintainence! So, I gave him the completed forms and the expired passport. All forms showed my address as this is where ds lives

I now hear from ds that the new passport is at his dad's

Can I do anything? This would mean he completed a new passport renewal and presumably falsified my details on the document? How do I find out?

TIA x

DH applied for DSS's passport renewal last year - he didn't need to falsify anything, just give mother's details. It's different if you haven't got the previous passport, AFAIK. We did ours online and the person applying has to put their own address.

Do you think he won't give you the passport if you need it?

Sorry, I thought that ^what was implied. If he has just had it sent to his address, but, if you trust him to take ds away, then I don't suppose any problems. I think I've been in here too long reading stories of non resident parents not returning kids. sorry, knee jerk, hope I didn't offend.

If he has parental responsibility then he can apply for DS's passport on his own, so he won't have needed to falsify anything, he also didn't have to ask you before doing it.

Thank you all. I wanted to check there was nothing untoward about the passport going to x. Wasn't sure if it should come to address where ds lives.

With regard to getting it done and getting him to pay...no chance I'd ever see that £!

It was a simple question I don't know why some people got so stroppy. Thank you again

OP was not talking about the address ON the passport but the fact that the PP went to his Dad's address.

OP aas others have said you probably have nothing to worry about unless your ex is from another country and you feel there's a risk of abduction. Is there?

maddy68 · 08/06/2014 20:32

There us nothing untoward about it. The parent applying for the passport puts the address of where they want the passport sending to

KeepingUpAnon · 08/06/2014 20:39

A passport can be sent to any address.

When I got passports for the dc last year, I had them sent to my mums address.
