...Some of us would like to enjoy the birdsong and do a bit of quiet reading.

Bastards.

There is one lot of noisy fuckers in my otherwise extremely peaceful terrace. They live next to me.
They are out in their garden with the music on loud still, so they are having to shout at one another to hear themselves over it. And getting progressively louder and more pissed. Again.
I'm inside, upstairs and the other side of my house, working, and can still hear them as I have the bathroom window open .

AnnaLegovah · 08/06/2014 21:28

And with the world cup shortly on the way its going to be even worse as the games are on at night. I'm expecting very little sleep over the next few weeks. Sad

Billynomates71 · 08/06/2014 21:30

We thought we had moved to a lovely tranquil idyl.

But there is dogs barking from 6.30am, and kids tv blaring from about 7am usually.

Unfortunately they're my dogs and my kids. There is no escape.

Thank god we haven't got any neighbours. You'd be cursing us.

LadySybilLikesCake · 08/06/2014 21:36

My neighbours shout over the music too. Then there's the child screaming and the dog barking. It starts at 7am most mornings with said child running around upstairs. They have floorboards so I hear it. Then the mother is hoovering on and off throughout the day. After school the father's home, he has an audible sneeze/hack up crap. Then there's the music. Then there's the dog barking on and off throughout the day. It's fun. Not.

APodPerson · 08/06/2014 21:37

I can't stand it too. It's very inconsiderate.

We moved to a new house just over a year ago, and a couple of days after the neighbours had a BBQ with pretty loud music.
I said something to DH (in the house) about the neighbour's music being too loud. 3yo DS overheard me, and two minutes later was in the garden shouting his head off about 'Mummy, the music's too loud.'
They turned it down, and we haven't heard anything from them since.

marssparklesdownonme · 08/06/2014 21:37

We are surrounded by OAP'S so we don't have too much of a music problem, it's the bastards who light bonfires on lovely sunny days that piss me off.

Youhaveafriendinme · 08/06/2014 21:41

Most people would probably quite like to be surrounded by music of their choice outside from time to time, in between listening to the birds of course Smile Some people are selfish so just go ahead and play it. Others don't because they think it is inconsiderate and that not playing music outside is part of the compromise you need to make when you have neighbours and want to treat them well.
SEmyarse I just don't buy it that most people share your love of other people's garden music

StandsOnGoldenSands · 08/06/2014 21:54

Argh bonfires. I so agree.

Larimarbleu · 08/06/2014 22:00

Why the hell do people need to light bonfires ?..(it's not the 1950s anymore)..... that's why we have green bag collections. Failing that, take it down the dump.

Bunbaker · 08/06/2014 22:05

I am with you on bonfires. People always light them when there is washing on the line. Grrr!

I imagine it would be wonderful to live next to an elf. Not a drunken one though, they can get a bit rowdy.

calmet · 08/06/2014 22:33

One of my friends is like this. When I go round she is sitting outside with speakers playing music on the patio. I have said how unfair she is being, but she just dismisses it.

trixymalixy · 08/06/2014 22:34

I really can't stand people playing any kind of music in the garden. One off party, fine, constantly, really fucking rude.

thebodylovesspring · 08/06/2014 22:36

Who was that hot little elf in The Lord of the rings? Blond hair, nice eyes. I would do him.

LadySybilLikesCake · 08/06/2014 22:37

Legolas? He's mine. Sorry.

woodlandwanderwoman · 08/06/2014 22:40

Our neighbours had music on for the first time yesterday, tbh I was just happy to hear people enjoying themselves. Having a shit time of things myself at the moment and hearing a good old party lifted my spirits a bit. I nearly went round with a bottle to join in Smile

Greydog · 08/06/2014 22:46

Se - oh, you're talking about electric mowers! This is petrol driven, and yes, it sounds just like an old prop plane taxiing constantly as he cuts his grass. sorry to be so late to respond!

thebodylovesspring · 08/06/2014 22:54

Ladysybil that's him. Willing to share!

LadySybilLikesCake · 08/06/2014 22:55

I don't even share my wine, dear Wink

Hope you're OK, Woodland.

woodlandwanderwoman · 08/06/2014 23:03

Thank you Smile

thebodylovesspring · 08/06/2014 23:07

Shit I never ever share wine!! That's serious!! Men happy to. Grin

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 08/06/2014 23:09

Rooks?? Natural birds, just doing their cawing thing?

You are joking? Hmm

Clearly you've never experienced a rookery. I can't sit in my garden when they have young, the noise is unbearable. Unfortunately the trees they nest in are just outside our boundary. If they were mine I'd be chopping them down. They could go and nest somewhere else. Perhaps pitside your house SEmyarse. Bastards.
